Traditional Navajo Silver Dome Concho Hat Band Conchos are hand made from silver sheet. Domed in a dapping block, then soldered together and decorative silver balls formed individually and soldered completely around the edge. Silver wire loops are attached at each end and the individual conchos connected via strips of stamped silver sheet folded over at the ends to form links. This is a heavy piece: 113.8 grams of silver(3.66 oz. Troy) 20 Dome Conchos in two separate strands of 10 conchos each. Here is a set of 8 tiny sterling silver conchos plus 1 matching buckle(a total of 9 pieces) I have not polished them and I don't know if it's a complete set. They are rectangular in shape. Each piece has a vivid blue Turquoise stone set in the center. Nice stamping on each piece. Copper loop on the back for the strap. Each piece measures just 1 inch long X 1/2 inch wide. OLD WWI U.S. NAVAL TRAINING STATION HATBAND RIBBON
This is a great old silk hatband ribbon that was from a U.S. Naval Training Station. Circa World War I. The ribbon measures 20-1/2" long and 1-1/2" wide, and is in excellent condition. The ribbon has the remains of old adhesive at the left side; I will leave that to the new owner. The ribbon is black, and is woven in yellow/ gold thread. It is a fun, historical piece! Vintage Handmade Hitched Horse Hair Hatband for cowboy hat
I bought this hand hitched horsehair hatband in a pawn shop in Joplin. MO over 20 years ago and was told at the time it was old and prison made. That's all the information I have besides the following description. It's mostly a white/sand color with green and red diamond shapes hitched into that. The tails and tassels are mostly brown/black as is the inside with a few white hairs. The band measures about 1" wide and should let out enough for even the largest hat as it's totally adjustable. Horsehair tassels on the ends of the tail are 4" long. I never wore it; kept it in a display case with similar Western antique items. Very Old Native American Silver Concho HATBAND or NECKLACE Southwest
Very old and obviously hand stamped. No markings as is consistent with vintage Southwestern Native American Indian silver work. Measures approximately 24.5 inches long; works wonderfully as a hatband or a necklace. The buckle concho has a slightly different design from the other conchos. But it all works well together. I am putting up for Auction this very rare Edward H. Bohlin Made Vintage Sterling Silver Hatband that was made between the 1940s thru the early 1960s. I do not know the exact year it was made. This hat band could not be in better shape for it age. There is no damage at all to any of the Silver work as well as the Leather work. It has been very well taken care of. Any collector of Edward E. Bohlin's work will want to add this piece to thier collection. All of his Historic Western work is highly sought after. There was a segment on the Antique Roadshow about his Silver belt buckles recently.And they even called Mr. Bohlin the best Saddelry and western tack maker of his time. The list of stars who collected his creations is amazing. I have never polished the Silver as I like the Patena it gets in time. Vintage Native American brown/black/white beaded hat band, hatband
This is the second Native American hatband from my collection that I'm listing. It's clearly handmade. About 1 1/4 inches wide and 25.5 inches long not counting the leather strips(5" and 2.5" the shorter one was probably longer at one time. The leather backing is fully intact, no issues with stitching but there's a small stain at one end(see near bottom in the last photo) Unfortunately I don't know the tribal affiliation, should have kept notes! The beads are of the"sparkly" variety in brown, tan, black and white. One interesting feature is the black and white vertical sections appear to have been overlaid on top. PayPal only. Description Back in the Golden Age of the Fedora, a gent looking for a distinctively styled hat to set himself apart from the crowd might settle on a CHAMP. Hats made by Champ often flaunted some subtle but unusual styling touches not seen elsewhere. For example. Take a gander at this handsome Champ fedora, dating probably to the early 1950's. The soft Kasmir Finish fur felt is done in a soft shade of gray. Accented by a dark gray 2" grosgrain ribbon hatband—but check this out: the"knot" on the hatband bow is done in a brightly contrasting shade of silver gray. Catches your eye. Doesn't it? But that's not all! Look carefully at the grosgrain binding on that generous 2 3/8" brim. The silver-gray binding is actually supplemented by a welt of darker gray grosgrain around the inner edge for a deluxe two-tone look. ... moreBet you've never seen a hat with that feature before! The pinch-front crown stands 4 1/4" tall; the brim can be flipped up in back and down in front. Standard snap-brim fedora style—as we've shown it in the pictures—although it seems to be intended to curl up at the sides like a cowboy hat. Another distinctive styling feature! Inside the hat. The lining has gone AWOL; the tan leather sweatband is gold-embossed with the CHAMP"Feel the Felt" imprint(the earlier style) and the name of the original retailer. Meerdink Clo. Co. of Muscatine. Western Hatband Vintage 1890-1907 Indian Head Penny Conchos Sterling Silver belt
A really nice Western hat band adorned with Vintage read Indian Head Penny Conchos. Hand made Indian Head conchos and belt buckle Alternates Indian Head Penny side concho to the One Cent Penny Side Concho in most cases except one. The back is soldered copper. These can slide into position or be removed. The 23 Penny conchos and Penny belt buckle are on a piece of leather(has a little bit of polish on the leather when I buffered it a bit years ago. I bought this hand made hat band in Arizona about 30 years ago for $110(marked on back of the buckle in permanent ink) Adjustable to fit most hats- or use these Indian Head Penny conchos and Indian Head Penny belt buckle for something else. I asked a few western horsehair hatband experts about them: one of them told me they could not identify a specific shop or maker. But that it was genuine handmade hitching work, real horsehair, and that the figural designs were unusual. The other said that these(i have 2 of them. One in the last pic has sold already) would retail in their store for $150 each(which is meaningless on ebay, i know. this one for auction is the one with the fish or rainbow trout on it. the colors are: brownish black. Heather grey, heather aqua, turquoise, ivory, heather pink(only in that small stripe on the fish) size: the base size is 21" in circumference. it can be adjusted up to 28" in circumference. the tassels are 4.25" long. the band itself is 3/4 inches wide. i ... moredid a burn test on a stray hair. Also, some feathers on the left side, and a Colorado pin, a flying bird( pin, and a dove pin. Brim is 3 1/2"3 3/4" wide. From bottom to crown is approx. 5" at the front. The inside information has rubbed off. All I can really read in Steamboat Springs, Colorado. Very good pre owned condition. No rips. Holes, or any problems that I can find.
