ARMY UNIFORM POLY WOOL TROP AG-344 CLASS 3 1968 Search This is a U.S. Army man's polyester/wool tropical AG-344. Class 3 uniform coat and pants from the Viet Nam Era. Material is 60% polyester. 40% wool. Coat Contract number is DSA-100-68-C-0009. Stock number and size label has been removed. However there is a hand written number 18 directly behind the contract number. Pants Contract number is DSA-100-67 C-1420. Coat and pants are genuine original. Not a reproduction. Coat shoulders have button-down epaulets. All four pockets are secured with flaps and buttons. Flap ends of top pockets have snaps. Front is closed with four large buttons. 1912-1918 Royal Flying Corps uniform button. Metal detecting find from Kent. Detail is good. Condition as shown. I have not attempted to clean this button. The RFC was the air arm of the British Army in World War I until in 1918 it merged with the Royal Navy Air Service to form the Royal Air Force. During the early part of WWI the RFC supported the Army by artillery co-operation and photographic reconnaissance. This work led RFC piolts into aerial battles with German aircraft. Later in the War activities included strafing of enemy infantry and the bombing of German airfields and strategic transportation facilities. On 17th August South African General Jan Smuts reported to the War Council on the future of air power. Because of the potential large scale devastation of enemy lands and industrial centres he recommended that a new service should ... morebe formed. On the 1st April 1918 the RFC and RNAS were amalgamated to create the RAF under the control of the new Air Ministry. By 1919 the RAF had 4.000 combat aircraft and 114,000 personnel in some 150 squadrons.

Here is a good solid example of the rare History Of The First Division During The World War 1917-1919 compiled by the Society of the First Division and published in this First Edition hard-bound volume by The John C. Winston Co. in 1922. This is where the Big Red One began. The boys of the First fired the first American shot of WWI. The book measures 7 x 10 inches and has 450 pages of organization. Training and combat history, photos, field orders, commendations and the all too long Honor Roll of the casualties by unit. This is written in a lively and honest fashion, not overlooking the problems, but with plenty of the"can do" spirit so sadly lacking in this can't do country today. Before there was"Let's Roll, there was"Let's Go! a slogan of the First. This is both a heart breaking and stirring account of great ... morebravery and terrible sacrifice in the most brutal and trying of circumstances. It also reveals a lot about the careful training and preparation that was done, including building exact replicas of the German line they were to attack so they could practice their assault. I wish the book was required reading for every revisionist history fed high school kid today so that they might appreciate better what has been done for them and what tough really is. Find out what a box barrage is and what happens when it closes in on your section of the line! It's not a place you want to be in, that's for sure. The book really is easy reading that will carry you along. The book is ex Westminster College library and has the library pockets and cards and is in good used condition with a good binding. There is only damage to two pages at the back which I have pictured to detract besides the library additions. I acquired this at the same time I got the First Division uniform I just sold. Excellent Pre-WWII Imperial Japanese Army Uniform w/ Private First Class Boards!
Welcome! I am parting with my collection after 20 years of collecting. I have over 2.000 uniforms of all eras, one of the largest private uniform collections in the U.S. and now I get the chance to pass it on to someone who will enjoy it. All items are original and have original period insignia. I have a full guarantee with all my items and they can be returned within 10 days for a full refund(minus shipping) as long as the item has not been altered(i.e. items removed for switched) I have 100% feedback so bid with confidence! OK. Japanese uniforms are out of my realm of knowledge. I own several but I never got into the different types and uses. I usually considered the Imperial Japanese uniforms to be fairly boring but the history is still fascinating. This is a uniform constructed of what looks to be tan or light green cotton with a white ... morecotton liner. The exterior has some color fading from use(under the shoulder boards the color is a tad darker and looks more green) but is in excellent shape. The interior is super clean and without stains. The exterior has what looks like a heavy thread holder for ribbons or medals on the left breast and the right area has a small black heavy thread for what I am assuming would be for a badge or some type. Both brass buttons for the pockets are present and the pockets are in great condition(no holes) All brass or copper(don't know what they're made of) buttons on the tunic are present and show minimal wear. The red collar tabs are in excellent shape and show very strong color with no mothing. The two shoulder tab ranks are for a Private First Class. The color is strong and there is a very minimal amount of soiling. The boards are a matching set with color. Size, construction, etc and not two boards just thrown onto the jacket. One shoulder board has a small moth nip along one corner area maybe the size of a square centimeter. The collar hooks and tabs are both present and are rust free. Also. GREAT CONDITION* SCARCE OLD VTG 1940's WWII USMC UNIFORM VISOR HAT CAP This offering is for an old 1940's US Marine Corps Green Wool Dress Uniform Visor Hat or Cap. There are no makers markings or tags but the size tag under the sweatband states the size is a 7. The inside circumference at the sweatband is app. 21¼" which pretty well equals the stated size. The condition of the hat is excellent as seen in our photo's both above and below. The cap retains the original USMC cap buttons and chin strap. There is no hat badge. As stated the condition of the hat is outstanding with no notable wear. The leather is pliable and undamaged. There is no mothing, the cap displays beautifully and the hat will make an excellent addition to someone's collection, shouldn't it be yours! Old United States Navy uniform 2 piece buttons measuring 7/8 inches in diameter. Their domed front is brass and the reverse is tinned steel. They feature an eagle clutching a horizontal anchor over 3 cannon balls on a smooth field. They have looped wire loose shanks. The tinning is mostly worn away and the gilt shows moderate wear.

Bottom left is 7/8 inches in diameter with brass front and brass colored tin back. The bottom right button is 3/4 inches in diameter made of hollow gilt tin. This last one has heavy gilt wear.

Vintage WW II U.S. Army Antilles Dept. authentic uniform shoulder patch
This is part of a large collection of World War II military jacket patches and insignia my dad sent me to sell on ebay. As a young boy during WW II. He wrote to serviceman asking them to send him their patches and he collected these in a large scrapbook. I always admired them as a child myself and he recently sent me the entire box. Some I'm going to keep because I like the design or they have personal meaning but others I'll be selling here when I find the time. I guarantee that all of these are authentic and were collected by my dad during WW II. As I learn myself about the collectability of these patches I bought a black light so I can represent that they do not glow when when placed under it- to the extent you want more reassurance they are in fact original.
