Uniform For The Toronto Scottish Regiment Including Jacket Kilt Feather Bonnet
Here is a uniform for the Canadian Regiment. The Toronto Scottish Regiment, the 75th(Mississauga) Battalion. I really do not know the age of this particular uniform. I believe it may date anywhere from the 1940's to the 1960's or even later. I chose these categories because they were the latest ones ebay had that listed items by nation, and I thought it important that this listing be directed towards Canadian collectors. I do not own this uniform, I am selling it for a uniform collector friend. It is my understanding that this uniform may have been a drummer's uniform. Also. The red sash shown in some of the photos was added to the uniform by my friend, but since taking those photos I have learned that the red sash would probably not have been worn with this uniform. If you purchase the uniform we will include the sash for you ... moreto do with as you please. The grouping consists of a jacket. Which I believe is an officer's patrol jacket, kilt, a fly plaid, a belt, and a feather bonnet hat with a white and blue checked base with a regimental insignia on one side. The jacket is in generally good condition with relatively little mothing. My friend added the new pips to the shoulder straps. The belt is in very good condition and the belt buckle displays a medallion with the numbers 75 imposed upon a large letter X. Surrounded by the words"The Toronto Scottish Regiment" with the letters"M G" The kilt had numerous moth holes on the front which my collector friend sewed closed, each one by hand. The pleated side of the kilt is in much better condition with relatively little mothing. There is a pin on the kilt that displays the regimental insignia. The fly plaid has several moth holes which I believe you will be able to see in the photos, and has the maker's label of Ascot Clothes. Military Accoutrements, 27 Richmond W. WW2 99th Inf Division Uniform group, Sterling CIB, 99th DIs, Identified MSG
I purchased this uniform group from Master Sgt James F Elliingson's widow in Pipestone. Minnesota in 1976. This group has been intact in my collection since that time. Mrs. Ellingson said her husband was in Tanks until he was wounded in the Battle of the Bulge and thereafter was transfered to the Quartermaster Corps. She said he refused to accept a Purple Heart because it didn't mean anything. In any case, my research shows that Ellingson joined in Army in July 1944 and made Master Sgt in 18 months. He must have been pretty sharp. He died in 1968. The Ike jacket has an Austrian Occupation Forces patch. As well as pinback, non-sterling 99th Infantry DIs, ribbons, and Army issue Sterling Combat Infantry Badge. His name and E-1076 are marked through out these pieces. Condition of the Ike is perfect, size is 36R. The wool pants are also ... moreexcellent condition and size 30-33. There are two shirts, one cotton and one wool. The cotton one has the 99th Division patch on the right arm and three overseas service stripes on the sleeve. Size 15-32 with good condition except for an ink stain the botton one pocket. The wool shirt is in perfect condition and size 15-33 with only the Master Sgt stripes. There is an Army issue belt and buckle and two caps, one khaki with infantry blue trim and one wool with QMC colors. This is just as I got it from the widow. I will include the research I have done. This is a very nice all original uniform grouping for a GI who fought and was wounded in the Battle of the Bulge. The 99th Infantry Division was called the Checkerboard Division and embarked for the European theater in Sept 1944 and arrived on the front in Belgium in November 1944. They were attached by the German Sixth Panzer Division on December 16th. 1944, and it must have been about this time when Ellingson was wounded.

The jumper has the Merchant Marines patch on the sleeve and also has the Merchant Marine symbols on the rear flap in the back of the uniform. There are no rips or tears in the uniform and the photograph is old and in the old frame that it was in when I received these two items. Both items belonged to the same Veteran.
