Purchased last week at an estate sale is this darling little porcelain FAIRING LIDDED BOX of"LITTLE RED RIDING HOOD" The red paint has flaked off the figure as well as her basket. Her face is still lovely. The wolf looks to be in excellent condition. It appears to me that the lid does not fit well over the bottom but this is the first fairing I have ever had so I am not sure of what quality to expect of items that were given away a the early fairs in Germany. I was told this one is from England and a very early one because of the incised numbers on the bottom. I will have to let you be the judge of the age and country of origin. Other than the flaked paint I believe the item is in good aged condition. Measures 2 3/4" tall with the base of 2 1/2" left to right and 1 3/4" front to back. It is approximately 9" tall and 2 7/8” across the bottom. There is a small cork that has been pushed in it and I cannot get it out. FIRST. LET ME STATE. I HAVE NOT MADE ANY ATTEMPT TO CLEAN THESE BALLS. THEY ARE IN THE CONDITION THEY WERE SET ASIDE YEARS AGO. DIRT AND ALL. The Olds crying towel is still sealed and I remember this. As well as the vinyl zippered club/bag hood, came from an estate of a fellow whose items dated mostly the 1970-80s and he was a car salesman at the time, so that is where I come up with the approx. date for those two items. If I'm correct. I count at least 24 LOGO balls. Lastly. There are a few tees and a knife. I am not a golfer. So please feel free to ask any questions if I've omitted anything.
