Custom built AMT 1/32 Dump Trailer, was the second AMT truck kit
This auction is for an AMT 1/32 scale dump trailer. Many AMT purists will be saying"Hey. AMT never made a 1/32 dump trailer" but they would be forgetting that very first AMT truck model(no, not the Peterbilt 359) which was a Moving Van with a very generic tractor. A second kit was issued with that generic tractor, and it was paired with this dump trailer. Then AMT got serious and started making scale 1/25 trucks. I bought this knowing it would be very close to 1/32 scale. As you can see from the pictures with a Monogram Aerodyne, it is a perfect match. The trailer has been assembled and painted, although it's too clean and needs a thorough weathering job. The undercarriage is simple, just wheels and axles, no brakes or other hardware. 8' by 5' Utility Trailer. Great working condition, used to take my bike from OK to KC MO and back plus numerous uses around town. Selling it because I just need a bigger trailer. The truck box came out of a Dodge Ram, the truck bed liner just happens to fit in the trailer and is great for carrying rocks or branches etc so the load doesn't fall out of the bottom, not sure what truck it is made for. Motorcycle tire rack is unbolted in the photo but easily mounts and flips up when the tire rolls into it so you can tie the bike down. Trailer tilts back so you can easily load or unload and locks back in place when tilted forwards. All lights work on the trailer. The truck box also has white LED lights mounted inside, I ran a wire and spliced it to the trailer extension wire so when its plugged in to the vehicle you can open the box ... moreat night and see what you need inside for a flat tire etc. as you see in the pictures there are a variety or ways to use the items. 2" ball hitch. The reason I'm selling it is because I built a larger 10.000 lb tractor and needed a larger trailer. When I purchased this unit from the previous owner he did not tell me the roof on the camper was sloped in about an inch in the middle at the AC. I'm assuming the weight of the Air Conditioner caused this. So. I did some calculations and installed some structural metal tubing inside to support the roof. It looks just fine and the roof is rock solid now. You can walk all over it without a problem. There was some minor damage to the rubber roof in front of the AC. So I installed a metal roof on the front 2/3's of the camper using rolled aluminum and 50 year sealer overlapping each joint by several inches. It looks great and that aluminum roof will outlast the rest of the camper many times over. I have kept it covered in the winter time using a large tarp.
