Ibanez has created a loyal following- starting in the 70's and growing in the 80's through to present. The reason for their popularity is their impossibly thin necks and high power electronics. The RGA121 is highly sought after by those in the know. Produced for a very short time, the 121 combined the best of S and RG guitars into one. This RGA features a mahogany body with a maple top- the classic tone wood combo- satin finished so the woods can resonate naturally. The pickups here have been upgraded to a Dimarzio Super 3 in the bridge and a Duncan Distortion in the neck. These work off a 3 way with'Petrucci' wiring- Full bridge, full neck, and both pickups split to single coils in the middle. ... moreYou'd be amazed how much this wiring will improve your stage and studio life- from crushing Super 3 rhythms and leads to the thick Distortion neck sustains.split the pickups and gorgeous cleans are right there. Book shows him reaching the rank of Paymaster and entitled to British War medal, Long service& Good Conduct and Africa Star. Unusual to find such long service. Worthy of further research.
