Hitachi S-806C Field Emission Scanning Electron Microscope (SEM)
I purchased this SEM on eBay in July 2008. But never commissioned it due to lack of time. At that time, I was told it came from a working environment and operation was guaranteed. I will send all parts that I originally received, but cannot guarantee operation since I never attempted to commission it- accordingly, I have started at a low bid, and listed it as"for parts. The following items are included(see photos) 1. Field-emission SEM column and vibration-isolation platform(main unit” The column is mounted on a very heavy(3600lb) vibration-isolation platform. The operating manual indicates an ion pump and turbo vacuum pump on the column. The column has a load-lock chamber for 150mm semiconductor wafers and a joystick-controllable stage. Industrial casters are included which allow the column-platform to be wheeled for transport. Cosmetic ... moremetal shrouds are included for appearance. 2. SEM display unit with two CRTs– the display unit is mounted on a frame with casters for transport. 3. Hitachi mechanical vacuum pumps– two Hitachi 160VP mechanical vacuum pumps(along with weight to keep vacuum hoses in position) 4. Power supply unit + Stage control unit with joystick controller box. 5. AC power conditioning unit on casters– I believe(but am not certain) that this is an autotransformer with circuit breakers for the system. 6. Cables. Shrouds and photomultiplier tube. One metal cover was slightly bent by the previous owner. 7. Hitachi S-806C Field-Emission SEM Operating Manual(approximately 250-300 pages) Field Emission SEMs are useful for high-resolution(15nm) imaging. With magnifications to 100,000X.
