The is a 3kw RF generator( more or less a giant microwave) used to heat product or cure adhesive in the manufacturing process. It does not have a"box" like you think of when you hear the word microwave. It has a platen external of the main box that sandwiched two plates above and below the item being heated. It was manufactured by Radio Frequency Company. It is a model 630. Type diel. serial number 3347. They can give you more answers than I can but I'll be happy to answer anything I can. I purchased this off ebay several years ago to use in a start up company that never went where I needed it. The seller said it was originally used by Bausch and Laumb to heat plastic blanks before they were pressed between two dies into glass lenses. He said it came off a working production line during a re-fit of the factory. It weighs several ... morehundred pounds. Here is a vintage B&K Precision ham radio RF signal generator. This Model E-200D is a Dynascan Corp. Japan built product. The background history of this unit is that it was a regularly operated piece for volunteer fire fighters radio communications. See photo#6 to show that it powers ON and receives full signal. My girlfriends father had this unit in his home base office in rural Santa Cruz county. So there is some heavy dust. Surface rust on cabinet and then scratches from it being packed up and moved to Eureka, CA. It has been unplugged& stored away indoors for the past 4 years. Upon testing. I can hear the frequency response from simple indoor electronics. The needle moves up to 45+ and back to Zero with modulation knob control. The lamp powers On and the unit initial warms up quickly. I bought this generator from a seller on EBay who said it was practically new. I found the frequencies from 10 to 12 MHz. 37 to 40 MHz, and above 120MHz were dead. All the rest had beautiful sine waves. I found it had a lot of wasted space inside so l cut the chassis to about half it's size. I also installed a shielded transformer and a circuit breaker. I found the front switch only cut off the secondary of the transformer so I installed a switch in the back that cuts off all the power. When they sell new, you have to adjust the RF amplitude with a screwdriver so I installed a pot with a knob. The bands and good frequencies within those bands are as follows: Range. Frequencies that are Good. 100 KHz to 300 KHz All Good. 300 KHz to 1 MHz. All Good. 1 MHz to 3.2 MHz. The bottom part of the cart is labeled: 851-014680-520-A. The back of the generator unit is labeled: Lam Research P/N 853-015516-002 Rev. 1 and is also labeled: Advanced Energy Industries. The hour meter shows 12630.98. It includes the cables as shown in the pictures. The cables look to be in good condition with no obvious cuts or scrapes. The key switch that is marked"RF Gen Auto is ... moreloose but seems to turn fine with the key. The same key also fits the other switch. I am not able to power this unit on to test the output or other functions. This cart also rolls fine. It only comes with what is shown in the pictures and so please check them carefully.
