This saw is not only operational.But is also a collectors item. These saws were made for the US Army during WWII for use on bridge building and demolition trucks! please note* white areas shown on case in pics are obscuring where the last owners name is stenciled on case in orange paint! This saw does run. But could use restoration, it could use a new cord, The guard spring needs replace/ repair to allow it t o spring back over Blade after cutting. The motor sounds good with no load on it. But for an old saw I would recommend new brushes and contacts. Needs Cleaning all over, maybe new seals on the oil fill reservoir also. These are the mightiest of all saws made. This is well worth the restoration value, as there is one sold on ebay just recently, The former owner replaced all brushes, bearings, switches, contacts, The Cord, Polished the shell and generally made it look Brand New. You are getting what is in the first picture. When I got it it did not have the switch or brushes so could not check to see if it ran. I am selling as not good but maybe you will get lucky. It has a reasonably straight SAW FOOT. I left blade cover attached because this model used a drift pin instead of bolt to fasten together. I sandblasted the plate. The blade guard is good. Return spring is good. Handle is good. Nice assortment of screws. DEFECTS I SEE! One of the screw holes in handle is broken in handle. It looks like someone tried to drill out and broke a easy out in it. MIGHT NOT BE ABLE TO REMOVE. On the gear case there is about a 3/4" crack. I do not know if it goes all the way through. I scraped on it to make sure that it is not a surface crack. It might be a factory crack because of location. It did not show signs of leaking ... morewhen I got the saw.
