This is a very beautiful pair of art deco book-ends with a Seal(Sea Lion) these are fixed onto a beige mixed coloured marbled base These book ends each measures 14cms long.7.8cms wide,15.3cms high. The Seals are made from spelter which has a bronzed coloured finnish and great detailing. In great condition for age there is a small ding in the chest of one of the seals hardly noticable(see photo) a small flea bite to the corner of one of the marble bases(see photo) again hardly visable but worth mentioning apart from that they are otherwise OK. This is a vintage manicure set from 1932. It appears to be a commemorative set from the Czech Sokol Festival celebrating the 70th SOKOL anniversary. IX Rally 1932. You can find more information on the celebration itself on Wikipedia, but sadly i could not get it to copy and paste in English. I am uncertain if the item case is Bakelite. It is a faux marble appearance light plastic type. With tiny tools inside. Perfect for travel and or a handbag. There is a tiny sleeve lever that you pivot open to allow the casing to open. The case measures approx 3.5 inches wide. Once opened, There is a mirror in the lid. Mirror has signs of aging, and black hazy areas. 4 tiny blue handled tools are inside, which clip in place into the case. Please see pics below. I see no cracks or chips in the set. Known as the second Victorian period. This was a time when fine furniture was made in NYC as well as imported chinas and porcelains. Folks were doing extremely well and I call it affectionately the Rockerfeller Era. Money was no object. Henry Fuldner and Sons was the manufacturer. You will see the original sticker in the top drawer side. Anyone who knows vintage and early 20c furniture knows Henry Fuldner and Sons. The end table is 29 1/2" high. 12" deep and 14" wide. Very elegant painting of swirls of roses on a background of soft earth ... moregreen with original gilt applied to cabriole legs. All original and nothing worn to death. Some wear. of course, but very little and just enough to add to that wonderful look. The drawers are good and solid and work easily. The marble is a lovely color of soft rose and pinks and very fine, not noticable wear to it. Put some wax on it and.you will see nothing. It is very nice. French Art Deco Marble Alibaster Clock, Spelter sculptures & geometric Bookends
Imposing 1920's French Art Deco matle clock in'porto nero' black viened marble and translucent light green alabaster with 2 cold-painted spelter pheasants and a pair of matching bookends. In impressive proportions- the clock is 36 cms/ 14" x 28cms/ 11" x 10 cms/4" overall. With the pheasants being 24 cms/ 9 1/2" x 12cms/ nearl 5" and very heavy at around 11kg or 24 pounds(sorry about the shipping costs. Check out my and combine shipping to reduce costs! The original bevelled edge glass is in place. As is the clock mechanism which winds but need attention. Generally the marble and alibaster is in good condition. Many of the corners have small chips missing, but it is all there and none cracked.
