The portective guard hinges back to let you change blades wtih ease. The guard is cast and heavy construction. The whole machine is but today you get thin and cheap guards. Not the case on this clasic professional saw. Single phase. I have owned it for several years but never really used it like I thought I would so I am selling it to make room. The sheet metal has been media blasted, dents removed, and painted professionally with a 2-stage epoxy paint. Includes all new blade guides, wheel bearings, and internal hoses. In addtion, all of the panels and labels have been professionally cleaned and restored to near new condition All you need to do is add a blade. The u rethane bandsaw tires. This Tannewitz PH band saw was fully restored. It was completely disassembled. All painted parts were taken down to bare metal, primed and top coated with acrylic lacquer. All fasteners and non-painted surfaces were cleaned of rust and grime and brought back to like new condition. The motor was disassembled and the old bearings were replaced with new ones and packed with new grease. New bearings were put into the upper wheel shaft housing and packed with grease. The upper and lower Wright blade guides had new thrust bearings and jaws added. The power cord and old electrical wiring was replaced and the electrical controls updated.
