No visible lettering, but the wiring does appear to be original with red dykem still marking the original solder points. Original Large box cabinet typical of the 1971 transition year. Cannot be sure if the capacitors are original to 1971. But then this amp has been played and caps don't last forever. This is the American export model with the AC cord for 120 volt operation. I am selling my 1974 Peavey TUBE Amp. I just put 2 Brand new Vintage replacement Jensens in it. Not even 20 minutes on them yet. I have a copy of the owners manual for it. Guitar not included just for size referance Everything works great on it. Now and then when turning a knob it will be a little scratchy, so pots will need to be cleaned. This amp is load and proud American Made, the speakers are made in Italy. It used to have CTS speakers in it. There is a small rip in the grill fabric about 3/4" And a wear spot on front bottom, there is a crack on the upper front face plate by the treble knob. I had taken pictures of these these flaws. Also as with most amps of this age there a a few scratches here and there. Otherwise it looks good and sounds great. It has plenty of volume for any playing situation. I bought this amp used a little over two years ago. I love the tone and versatility of this amp. But no longer have any use for it. Everything functions perfectly. There are some cosmetic issues, though, that I have documented in the photos. There are three tears in the tolex covering on one side. It appears that the previous owner glued the largest one with a silicone( based adhesive. Other than that, there is a small scratch on the faceplate by the JVM logo. The tubes were professionally replaced with Groove Tubes at the time that I bought the amp. I have used it a half a dozen times since then. This is it! The coveted 1964 Selmer Zodiac Twin 50 croc-skin 2x12 combo! The amp actually used by the Beatles. Led Zeppelin, Steppenwolf, etc. NOT the amps put on stage for public advertisement. This is not such a great secret anymore, as the amp has now been used and popularized by Franz Ferninand, the Arctic Monkeys, the White Stripe, etc. Please watch the videos to get an earful for yourself. Carvin VT50 Vintage Tube Electric Guitar Amplifier VT 50 Amp 50 Watts Bel Air
This head is in excellent condition and was purchased new from Carvin about a year and a half ago. It’s been used a few times a month. So the tubes should have plenty of life in them. I’ve typically used it at low to modest volumes. It was a dent and scratch deal, which knocked $50 off the price. The only flaws I could locate were a slight blemish in the lower right“N” of the plastic Carvin on the front of the Amp. In addition, the speaker Ohm switch is slightly recessed, as opposed to sticking out. It works flawlessly, but you might need the tip of a pen or a key to switch. I don’t need to change it much, but it takes me all of three seconds when I do. Note that it wasn’t bent or anything like that so no worries. Actually, I prefer that it’s recessed, as it won’t get bumped. I’ve babied this amp, have always given it a few minutes to warmup ... morebefore coming off standby, and have waited for it to cool down after powering down before moving. When used for a gig, it’s put on standby between sets, not shut on and off multiple times. I don't use it for practice as I have a small solid state practice amp for that purpose. It’s never been left in a car or exposed to any elements or temperature extremes. It has plenty of volume. Having used it with 2-12 and 4-12 cabinets. While it’s 50 watts, I’ve never needed even half the volume. However, I think this amp sounds great even at lower volumes. I really like the way dirt pedals sound on it in both channels. In my opinion the clean channel is Fender twin quality. The OD channel sounds amazing as weIl. I particularly like how OD pedals sound when used on the dirty channel set to just a little bit of break up, though they sound great on the clean channel as well. Quite versatile for a vintage style amp. I believe it weighs in at 28 pounds, and is surprisingly light for a 50 watt tube amp. The manual and power cord are included. The baffle pictured on the right is from a 1957 Hammond tube chord organ. It is made of 1/2" thick plywood and measures 19 1/8" x 17 5/8" It comes with its original grille cloth which is very much like the grille cloth found on Fender tweed amps from the same era. The baffle on the left is from a somewhat earlier Conn organ. It is made of 3/4" thick plywood and measures 22" x 11" Both baffles come with their orginal hardware for mounting the speakers. I'm looking at best offers above $150- incredibly heavy amazing speaker + solid cabinet is worth this much. Non-Working. Most likely a power-supply issue, if so probably a relatively a simple fix. To begin with: this. When working is quite a smooth and powerful solo amp that can be used as a power head for a 2 or 4 speaker cabinet. Seriously. Think 50 watt Little Giant. This amp worked perfectly last-time used about 6 months ago. Last week when I plugged in to try and get a better. 1968 Fender Drip Edge. AB165 circuit, appears 100% original down to the two prong cord-not including tubes- silverface Bassman head in remarkable condition. This is the same exact amp as the Blackface. Sounds great and the tolex is excellent. The power transformer 022814 8316802, output transformer 022871 606803, and choke 022699 606803. Has all the original caps and provides 50 watts of true Fender sound. Same circuit as the blackface and before CBS made any changes. Obviously very well cared for as I am the second owner. This is a late 50's Rickenbacker M-11 amp. Most have octal preamp tubes and this is one of the rare 2-12ay7 preamp tube models. It's been serviced with filter and bypass capacitors. A grounded 3 prong AC cord and sports a very large magnet Alnico Rola 12" 8 ohm speaker. Original transformers, grill is in near perfect condition, normal wear on the amp and nice leather handle. The amp sounds very good when you get her turned up loud, two channels with Tweed style interactive Volume controls and shared tone control. 12ax7's in the amp sound a bit too wooly for me, it has two old stock 12ay7's, 2-6V6's and a 5Y3 rectifier tube. The noticeable flaw is where the last guy that owned the amp set a drink on the amp, it left a ring that can be seen in the pictures, no dings in the tolex. Amp sounds fantastic and has and has had zero issues. Tubes are still good. I have been running it through two 2x12 cabs and have used a 4x12 cab with it before, very versatile.
