These 10 C-H rotary switches are double pole-12 position but can be made 4 pole/6 position by removing the wire jumpers which are soldered in. They were assembled and used by IBM. About 18 small pins to be installed as stops if desired are included. Great quality switches

EIGHT 4 wafer/deck/pole -- 12 position rotary switches From IBM equipment
These 8(plus one from different manufacturer) switches were removed from IBM control panels and most need to have solder remnants removed. One switch can be seen to still have LED indicators connected to one pole. Another switch has two wafers with small chipped areas but not affecting operation. Another switch is still full length and wafers are split into two double pole/six throw switches. The extra switch is equal to the others but looks a bit different.

LARGER THAN USUAL Ceramic Rotary Switch 2 wafer / 4 pole / 8 throw solid stops
4 POLE/ 8 THROW BIG CERAMIC ROTARY SWITCH. This is the largest ceramic rotary switch I believe I've seen. Came from IBM salvage stock and looks to have never been used. Everything about it is larger and more rugged than usual. Wafer diameter is 2" plus 3/4" more to total outside diameter. Wafers are 1/8" thick. Two separate small dia wafers hold the flexible heavy brushes which contact the wafers. Each wafer has 18 heavy contacts(16 plus 2 common) riveted to connectors for soldering. This whole assembly is an elegant piece of work. All parts can be seen to be for heavy duty. No bag or box was with the switch so I'm calling it used tho I don't believe it is. Soldered wire positions give me the thought that they are wired for binary control but I'm not sure. Can be cleaned of wire and solder if you have a different use for them. There are FOUR poles per switch and SIXTEEN positions with no stops or gaps between positions. Ten switches have rubber"O" rings mounted. These are high quality switches.

Floating a trial balloon here. To see what happens. I'm perfectly happy with keeping all I have.but willing to part with some of them) These were apparently originally used in RF panels. Having been hooked with with RF capable wire, or possibly for low level signal detection/switching. Very little use. When a few were taken apart and inspected. Looking at wear and comparing to playing with some identical new ones(which I have-took both apart) Evidence points to maybe 100 rotations on average, on each. The design of this exact switch style and design is particularly well suited for subtle RF signal handling but can also handle some decent amounts of DC or current. As a pair of realized ideals. As an overall switch.this unit is particularly useful for high end audio use. IF you open up High End US made preamplifiers from the late 70's ... moreand all through the 80's. This is the switch type and design you would many times encounter. Definitely one of the best of the switches available, as found through extensive testing by high end designers and builders. The best combination of build quality, sound quality and longevity in a fault free environment. This is a'50 year' switch, if there ever was one. You had to buy the kilo-buck plus priced preamplifier units, back then(70's-80's money! to get this quality of switch, as they were too expensive for the more cost conscious designs and builds. The bits of history: Stackpole was bought by Electroswitch. Who changed the design slightly, before they re-issued it. 16 pole rotary switch 4 Deck/4 poles per deck-2 throw w/CENTER OFF
PLEASE READ CAREFULLY This switch is a bit different than usual. There are 4 wafers/decks and each wafer has 4 poles. Stops are set to allow the switch to go to either of two positions. These positions(4 wafer/4 poles per wafer-16 separate circuits) each pass through a center position when switched. Each position has been wired together by IBM so continuity is always there for both positions until the switch is thrown past center at which time there is momentary continuity at the center position. Simple explanation: 16 pole/double throw-center off/momentary. Note: Center position may be held for as long as wanted before going on to the stop. Wire is easily altered for other connection.
