Hand crafted in Marlbro, England about 1825. The 8 day movement has been professionally cleaned and oiled and still keeps excellent time. Counting the hour on a bell. The calendar dial works on this country manor timekeeper. Solid fine grained oak. The case has a very nice old finish and warm patina. There are shrinkage separations from age, see photos. Waxed and polished, only an occasional wipe with a soft dry cloth is needed to maintain its glowing luster. Engraved iron hands appear original. The winding crank is old but not original. Up for sale is a pair of b&w nautilus 804 speakers. They sound great. Cabinets and grills do show wear. If I were keeping these I would just sand and refinish them or maybe just leave them as is. Depends on where they would be displayed. you have to get up close and shine light to see the faint scratches on one speaker. The other speaker has a little deeper scratch but it can be touched up check pics. I didn't do any touch ups I will leave that to who buys them. I bought this Bowers& Wilkens ASW 700 subwoofer to go with my now-sold B&W 803s main speakers so that I could get tight bass when playing them loud and to provide a fuller audio spectrum at low levels. And that they did! Because of a move right after I got it. The ASW 700s immediately went back into its box and into my storage locker, It is really not even broken in. The B&W 700 is a self-powered unit with 10-inch long-throw paper/kevlar cone in a sealed enclosure. It is driven by 500 watts of class D amplification with a low-pass filter adjustable from 40 to 140 Hz. And a fixed third order high-pass filter set at 80Hz. It connects to your main amplifier with a line level cable(a/k/a RCA cables that I connected to my tape outputs) For reasons I cannot explain. A few slight marks can be found low on the left side of the unit(see ... morefifth photo in the gallery where the speaker is facing to the right) Otherwise the wood— did I mention that it is a beautiful cherry— is without flaw. New the unit sold for $1300 and it sounded every penny of that worth. The subwoofer will be packed in its original box. Which I will wrap in cardboard so that the box will look like new as well. With a weight of some 70 lbs. FedEx will be the shipper and it will be insured for the sold price. Shipping to Alaska, Hawaii, Guam, and Puerto Rico will incur whatever surcharge FedEx adds. Wilkins 34-950XL - 1 1/4" Double Check Valve Backflow Preventer, Zurn 950XL
This auction is for a Wilkins/Zurn 1 1/4" double check valve. It was installed in July of 2011 and was removed from service in early 2012. It was installed at the local water authorities request and was in inspected in August of 2011. Only to be told 5 months later that a double check valve was not enough to satisfy state requirements- that a RPZ valve was what was needed. So it was installed downstream from a water softener system for about 7 months and only city potable water went through it and it works perfectly. This valve retails for around $340.00 most places and you can see ones for about $250.00ish here on eBay. rare vintage Wilkins 1911 patent cutter for inside of glass tubing w/ expander
You are bidding on one vintage glass tubing cutter as pictured. But instead of scoring the outside of the glass tubing or boiler sight glass. It scores the inside. How do you keep the cutting wheel pressed against the glass? Pressing the lever at the handle extends the little pad opposite the cutting wheel, as shown in the 4th picture. That little pad pushes against the opposite side of the glass from the wheel. The maximum inside diameter it will accomodate is just over 5/8" It is marked only"PAT JUNE 27 11" with no other markings that I can find. That turns out to be patent 996.385, made by George H Wilkins of Greenfield, Massachusetts. I can't tell you anything about Wilkins or about who might have been the manufacturer. You would guess Goodell Pratt, but I couldn't make that connection in any of my GP catalogs. ... moreThe beam is graduated in 8ths. And the little thumbscrew on the depth stop appears original. Overall length including the handle is about 13" Condition of the tool is very good. Other than some patina on the rod and some wear to the black finish on the handle.
