Shopsmith Retractable Caster Drive Rod Mark V All Models ExCond
DESCRIPTION: Up for bid is a Shopsmith Retractable Caster Drive Rod. This is a newer type that allows the foot pedal to clear the new 3” Casters. The newest rods are interchangeable. This is the next previous model that is not interchangeable and is therefore the right hand model as you face the Shopsmith or Power Stand. Also Shopsmith added flat head counter sunk screws in the ends of the rods. This is a Shopsmith mistake because. Upon normal use of the foot pedals, the front screw tends to tighten up and break off and the back screw tends to loosen up and fall out. This Rod will work on all Retractable Caster Models for the Mark V and Power Stands with or without the counter sunk screws in the ends of the Rod. CONDITION: Excellent! This Rod has the original bluing with no rust or corrosion. There are some small scratches and normal wear ... moremarks. The front Counter Sunk Screw Head has broken off and left the stud inside the rod. See pictures) I would have removed the stud but I don’t have and easy-out this small so I will leave that up to you.
