A Mid/Late 18th Century Shagreen and White Metal Surgeons Pocket Six Lancet Etui.All the lancets have Mother of Pearl handles(two lancets are missing) The Cartouche is inscribed J.EVANS SURGEON. It is in super condition with no splits.Tears or holes in the Shagreen and it opens and closes as it should do. Size.Length=approx 3" Width=approx 2"tapering down to 1.5" I am assured that the metal tests as silver but I have not tested it myself so I cannot guarantee that. HISTORY After in depth research it is my belief that this Surgeons Lancet Etui may have belonged to John Evans Surgeon.Who served as assistant surgeon on board H.M.S.Britannia which fought along side H.M.S. Victory with Admiral Nelson during the Battle of Trafalgar. H.M.S. Britannia was in Nelsons attack division. John Evans joined H.M.S. Britannia on 23 October ... more1805. Rank.Assistant Surgeon. The leather case on this radio shows a few scuffs. Creases, and line indentations. The radio, measuring about 3 1/2" tall, is pretty clean showing a few light scuffs and scratches, and signs of light wear. It has an interesting color. It looks like a darker coral to me, but me sense of color isn't the best. It may look different in person. The radio turns on and I picked up a couple of stations. The earbud is untested. There are a couple of tiny triangles around the 6 and 12, civil defense? The volume seems to be stuck or a little tricky to adjust. SUPER COOL SHARP SIX TRANSISTOR RADIO MODEL TR-182 This auction is for a very nice SHARP SIX(6) transistor radio. This radio is a conventional 6 transistor superhet configuration. This unique item works but is intermittent. I suspect a possible bad solder joint or loose connection. Flexing the circuit board makes the audio come and go. It should be an easy fix but I will leave that to the winning bidder. If you are the successful bidder and would like it fixed. I can repair it for minimal additional charges. This radio shows slight wear to the plastic but the colors are good. The back cover is slightly lighter in color than the front. The only scratches I see are obviously due to taking the radio in and out of the leather case. The leather case is in excellent condition and all stitching is tight. The back snaps work like new. The inside ... moreof the radio is clean and there is no corrosion. There are no cracks or chips in either the front or back covers. The original paper label is still on the inside of the back cover and is in excellent condition. This is a very clean and collectible radio. Vintage Nobility Six Transistor Pocket Radio
This is a very classic late 50's/ early 60's transistor radio design. Note the elegant sans-serif font and the diamond accents stamped into the metal. The name itself"Nobility" conjures up images of the radio in use by the elite on the beaches of Saint Tropez. The plastic case is a beautiful deep burgundy color. I believe this 3" wide x 4.25" high x 1.5" deep(including the leather case) radio was manufactured in Hong Kong. The radio does turn on but where I live I have a hard time receiving AM signals- so I cannot guarantee that it does actually pick-up stations. These are great looking complete doors with a beautiful aged shellac(varnish) patina and finish. The ends mate properly. Therefore there is no warping. The upper portion of the mating ends on both doors will need to be replaced(I can provide the lumber) due to fire damage(see pictures) This is a simple fix by removing the old ends and using a new applied molding. This only needs done on the mating ends on the top 1/3 of the door and all else on the doors are complete and intact and ready for installation.
