This old anvil was a barn find from an old farm estate in Southern Iowa and has been cleaned and rubbed with an all-natural beeswax to protect its great looking old iron patina and is ready for use or display anywhere. This anvil is solid and still very usable. I wasn’t able to locate a name or a bark on it, but the number“50” is embossed in raised lettering under the horn. As you can see. It has been well used but would work just fine in any metal worker’s shop. It measures 6 ½ by 7 inches at the base. Stands roughly 7 ½ inches tall and is 14 inches long with a 3 inch wide work surface. There are two tool holes. It measures 28 inches long. 2 3/4 inches tall, 1 7/8 inches deep and is 2 3/16 inches wide. The handle is 4 3/4 inches wide. A recent barn find. This is a very odd and unusual item that is hard to come by. The pour spout on the end enables the user to easily pour molten material out of it. There is still a small amount of a shiny material around the handle(possibly lead or alum. It has been cleaned and sealed with beeswax to preserve the old iron patina. Here is a very RARE cast iron sign found inside a mill in northwest indiana. This is a BUFFALO FORGE CO. Heating and Ventilation Engineering sign. The sign has mounting holes located on each corner. It has raised lettering/ Boarder and weighs just over 11 pounds! The sign is 20 inches wide and 10 inches tall. Doing some research on this item i found that the company had this name around late 1800's to early 1900's! This company is now known as CARRIER brand! Up for sale is this rare antique patent 1920 Champion Blower& Forge co. cast iron vise anvil combo. It measures 21" across by 6 3/8" deep by 13 1/2" tall and weighs 63lbs. This vise/anvil was purchased from a local estate out of Chester county. Pa and it is in as found condition. The cast iron is in good condition except for the chip pictured in photo 11 but it does not effect the function. I think this piece is missing a wood handle which would make it easier to open and close the vise(I imagine it would not be to hard to manufacture a handle to replace it) A great piece for décor as-is or a restoration project. Fireplace Poker. Hand Wrought Iron, Blacksmith Made Size: about 34” long Material: 3/8” square iron Stoke your fire in style with this custom made hand wrought iron fireplace poker! This is a very nice poker that I made on my coal fired forge in upper East Tennessee. It was made using 3/8" square iron with reversing decorative twists down the middle to finish it out. The poker is about 34" long and finished with natural beeswax. The business end is forge welded and hand worked to allow you to poke or pull a log in the fire. I can make as many of these as you need. They are all custom made by hand so there will be slight variations in each one with no two exactly alike. A hand made poker like this would make an awesome and unique Christmas present. I guarantee they don't have a Graysburg Forge poker like this- and they will LOVE ... moreit! The pictures show some slight differences in the finish that come from the forge welding process. Once you heat it in the fire these seem to wear off. I try to get the beeswax finish as uniform and nice as possible. Just remember this is the real deal ironwork. Completely hand forged at my coal fired forge and shaped on the anvil with hand tools.
