This box is in very nice condition. It would be excellent but the inside of the top has some sticker and glue residue from some pictures that were inside it. All of the drawers work perfectly and the felt barley has a mark in it. There is some very small scuffs on the outside. it has the key. Kennedy 520 machinist box (kustom)
Up for auction is an old Kennedy 520 7 drawer machinist box. In very good condition. First I cleaned the 40 or 50 years of crud off of it. Then I removed all the old nasty felt. sprayed 5 coats of clear on it just to preserve the wear on the paint. There are scratches stains and paint chips but to me that just makes it even better. Re lined all the drawers in red velvet. Finished it off with a nice freehand border stripe around all the drawers.Front and top. This box is stunning and would be at home in any collection. The only 2 issues are I don't have the key to it and the leather handle is in bad shape. I wrapped electric tape around the bottoms of the handle and the middle to keep it from falling apart. The Top Compartment is; 20" W, 8 3/8" D, and 3 1/4" H. 4-Drawers are; 8 5/8" W, 7 1/2" D& 1" H. 1-Drawer; 8 5/8" W, 7 1/2" D, 2" H. 1-Drawer; 18 1/4" W, 7 1/2" D, 1-1/2" H. 1-Drawer; 18 1/4" W, 7 1/2 D, 2-1/4" H. The height measurement with the Top Open is; 20 ½” It has a Drop-front panel with double-wall construction that covers all drawers and adds extra security for your tools.
