Vintage Gerstner Machinist Toolbox Tool Chest
For your consideration is this Vintage Gerstner Machinist Tool Box This vintage toolbox measures approximately 20" in length. 9 1/2" in width, and 13" in height. CONDITION: This vintage toolbox is in fair condition. It comes with a wooden piece that may either cover the drawers or slide into the bottom compartment to reveal the drawers. This cover does not stay in place because of a chip in the wood where two pins are meant to attach. The toolbox has several other small chips elsewhere on the box. The drawers all slide in and out smoothly and are in good condition on the inside. With the original felt padding still intact. The original square mirror is still intact. The metal latches to open the top compartment are fully functional. The original handle on the top of the box is intact and functional. A red sticker reading"fragile" ... moreis affixed to the front of the box. Several numbers have been written on the back of the box along with a paper label. All tools have been removed from the box and will be sold in seperate auctions. However, some memorabilia remains in the uppermost compartment of the box. Please refer to the photographs for further details on this memorabilia and the overall condition of the toolbox. It measures 19 3/4" wide x 9 1/4" deep x 11 3/4" tall and is very heavy at nearly 21 pounds. I replaced the worn drawer felt with new blue felt. But did not glue it down in case the buyer wanted to change the color. There is wear on the black front door and there is no key to lock it. But it is in overall good condition. This item will be insured for shipping damage. Large Vintage Industrial Aluminum ALCLAD Metal Machinist/ Marine Tool Chest Box measuring 28 x 16.5 x 12.5 inches and weighing around 50 pounds. This is unmarked and quite unique piece. It is made of an Alclad aluminum. High purity and resistant to atmospheric corrosion and ideal for marine environment, chemical industry, etc. There are clasps around the top edge that once opened has a top drawer and many small drawers. These drawers do not have, nor appear to have had handles. It is kind of hard to open them because of it. There is one slot where there may have been another drawer, but am uncertain. The top handle is missing, but could easily be replaces. Please see photos for further details.
