This locomotive is built with a LIONEL body shell mounted onto an ATLAS/ROCO chassis/drive system. The body shell is factory painted. The conversion kit for this model was produced during the 1970s according to my research and was the only way to have an EMD GP series model at that time. I equipped it with KADEE couplers. NWSL delrin axle gears. It is an excellent running locomotive with low running time. The horns are missing from the shell. This unit is ready and very easy to convert to DCC operation.
