Rare 80+ year Old Art Print circa 1925 Title: The Broken Pitcher The majority of Greuze’s later works consisted of titillating paintings of young girls. His paintings contained thinly disguised sexual suggestions under the surface appearance of over-sentimental innocence. In the picture we see a three-quarter length portrait of a young girl. She has blue eyes. Light hair, pink cheeks, very red lips, and her dress is white. She still exudes the innocence of childhood but we need to look closer at this portrait. How old do you think she is? Look closely at her facial expression. What can you read into it? Do you think she looks serious? Do you think there is a slight look of alarm in her eyes? Is there a look of sadness in her expression? What has happened? Look at the way she is dressed. It looks as if it was a special dress for a special ... moreoccasion. Look at the flowers in her hair, maybe she has just returned from a party, but why are her dress and her appearance so dishevelled? On her arm she carries a pitcher which is broken but she has not discarded it. She clings lovingly to it. Offered here is an excellent fired Civil War.58 caliber bullet recovered from the Eisenhower Farm on the Gettysburg Battlefield. Relics from President Eisenhower's 230 acre farm are hard to come by. Very few people had the privilege of relic hunting there while owned by the Eisenhowers and in 1967 the farm became National Park Service battlefield land. This bullet comes from the collection of the late George Olinger. A prominent Gettysburg resident who many years ago was able to legally acquire relics from the battlefield. I bought this bullet from John Pannick, the owner of Sword and Saber on Baltimore Pike in Gettysburg. Mr. Pannick informed me that he knew Mr. Olinger, which enabled him to acquire a large portion of the collection directly from the family. Box W This is a Silver plated Pig Cork Screw/ Wine bottle opener. I believe the pig to be silver plated- there is no magnetic attraction anywhere on him. The actual cork screw that doubles as the pigs curly tail does have magnetic attraction. This is a great piece. From tip of nose to end of tail cork screw is roughly 4-1/8”L x 1-5/8”T x 1-1/8”w(ear to ear) the cork screw is 2-3/8”long total. The actual screw part is 1.25”L This is a great piece. I can find nothing at all wrong with it except that the tail is a little loose and sometimes falls to the floor and drags behind him. It stands approximately 6 13/16" tall with a 2 3/4" rim diameter. 3 1/4" X 3 3/4" base and measures approximately 4 1/4" from it's nose tip to the back side of the mug. It weighs approx. 1 1/4 lbs. It's a very well designed mug with a very solid 3/16" thick rim width that should hold up well for many years to come. Keuffel& Esser Model# 5691 Favorite Farm level. In 1913 K&E introduced the Model# 5690 Farm level pictured in the last 2 photo's. This level appeared last in 1915 catalog and in 1921 the Favorite Farm level first appeared. This is basically what we see here everyday and you can date them somewhat by the base configuration which has two different components or parts. Where as the favorite is one piece. The other way to date them is the words Keuffel& Esser Co. NY on the scope verses the name favorite. So to the best of my knowledge from 1921 to 1927 we can date the K&E Co. NY and after 1927 to 1936 the favorite was in place. If you collect these farm levels then all three are important variations to the same builder/farmer level. The K&E tape is included in near perfect condition.

ESTATE Original Circa 1920s PENNSYLVANIA FARMHOUSE QUILT. Hand-Stitched with Early 20th Century INDIGO POLKA DOT CALICO Fabric, Country Star Motif. Measures approx. 73X75" approx. 7 stitches per linear inch. Some Patches on the rear side, the backside of the quilt is a thinner muslin fabric. She reinforced the binding at some later date, appears she hand-stitched it though. Has some yellowing from storage(I have not laundered) light dirt/stains, some worn-thru areas on the top.
