~ 1953 Chevrolet Dealer's Showroom Promotional Sign ~ Large Original 21" X 27" Vacu-formed blue plastic sign mounted over fiberboard backing. Screened in five colors over the blue base. It has received a light restoration consisting of a gentle cleaning. Mending a split in the plastic in the upper right corner and replacing the deteriorated faux woodgrain covering on the perimeter"picture frame" with a modern fabric resembling finished walnut. There is some paint loss in the high-relief areas. The colors have mellowed but are very good throughout. This sign was obtained from BEAN CHEVROLET in Northfield. Vermont. BEAN closed their doors forever in 2012 after 60+ years in the business. Carefully stored away in the'50's, it didn't see daylight until the Summer of'12. These are extremely hard to find and were typically hung up in the Chevy dealership for the model year and then thrown away. These are the thick cardboard signs and measure 32" by 18" These are used but display very well. They would look excellent framed. There are a few scuffs here& there, any major damage is notated on the descriptions below. An original. Rare, used, 7 7/8" long, probably a 1951 CHEVROLET DEALERSHIP PROMO CAR with a bank bottom. This vintage olive green car has metal windows because it is a bank, all four original tires, and all four hub caps. The car's roof has a 3/4" long crack, minor corrosion to the metal windows and one metal headlight, a 1" crack in its plastic bottom, a metal bank closer with light rust, and no key. The promo car is in very good condition for its age with light scuffs, no melt marks, and no warping. Overall this piece is in very good condition. Pardon any glare from my flash. These clocks are very rare and this one especially because it has the Plaque because most of these clocks you find do not have the Plaque with the name of the person this would of been given to. The Plaque say Parts-Service Sales Jubilee Award R.D.Clark. Not sure if clock works but clock is in nice shape for its age. Some of the paint is scuffed up around the edges but still very nice piece. Brass Record Face Plate is in nice shape along with the Brass Hands and Blue Bowtie. Brass Record spells out Golden Record. The back of the clock has a tin back as seen in picture. Clock is heavy. This clock can sit on shelf or be hanged on the wall.

What's even better is that there is no sloppily added dealer sticker to obscure the front or rear cover graphics. The brochure measures 7" W x 8.25" H.
