These are a Pair of Hugo Kohler Biel Swiss Art Pottery Jack& Jill Wall Plaques Trinket Dishes. The wall plaques are signed"29/1 Kohler Biel Handerbeit" with the number"5" on the boy plaque and initials and number"MW 8" on the girl plaque. Please note that these are two separate plaques/dishes that make up one set. The wall plaque on the left shows Jack carrying buckets in both hands and the other wall plaque shows Jill carrying buckets in both hands. I am not completely sure that they are Jack and Jill. They could be just a depiction of Swiss children- but either way they are fun. They have wires on the backside for hanging, but if you want you can remove the wires and use them for trinket dishes. I would not recommend serving food on them. Although I am not a complete expert on Hugo Kohler Biel, I am assuming ... morethat these plaques are Swiss based on other examples of the same pottery I have seen on the internet. They are in pretty good vintage condition. They have some minor dirt and film from being handled- could use cleaning before displaying. On the back of the girl plaque there is a slight chip along the bottom edge, but since it is on the back it is hidden from view. On the backside of the girl plaque there is a surface scrape line mark, surface scrape areas on the bottom right corner and naturally formed brush marks, but again since it is on the back it is hidden from view. I see other naturally formed flaws on these plaques since they were hand painted like brush marks, inconsistent coverage of paint, etc. Overall they are still really very nice! if you are not too picky about the flaws mentioned in the description) The wall plaques measure about 7 1/8" high by 4 1/2" wide. They also have a little depth to them and not completely flat- they measure about 1/2" deep. I do not know exactly how old these wall plaques are, but do show somewhat of age. Swiss Coffee It's an alpine tradition. The classic majolica made in the lakeside city of Thoune, Switzerland. This is a sweet set of five coffee(tea or chocolate) cups and saucers with the traditional'chrutmuster' motif that looks like an owl. The cups and saucers and softly squared, with a slight curve and single post-type handle. The slip-glaze decoration is done in orange, white and green on a rich brown background. Saucers are about 4 1/8" square and cups are about 1 7/8" high, with some variation due to the handmade construction. Very hard to find swiss army mountain pack! Made of very sturdy classic salt and pepper canvas with leather trim and straps. This pack has a built-in tube that runs ingeniously through the center of the pack that was originally used to hold a rifle-it has a leather strap with buckle at the bottom to hold the rifle in place! It could be used to hold any long object such as a fishing pole. Trekking poles, etc. The pack also has two interior pockets on either side of the rifle tube. Another great feature is that the pack has an internal frame consisting of two wooden lathes that are in small sleeves on either side of the rifle tube. These are fastened in by two small leather flaps at the top and are removable if desired. There are two outer pockets that fasten with leather straps, as does the main compartment. All the covers are leather trimmed. ... moreThe bottom of the main compartment and the side pockets are heavy duty leather. The shoulder straps are grey cotton webbing, both of which are adjustable, and one strap has a quick release. It also comes with two leather buckle straps that can be used to attach to the multiple tie-on points. The packs size is roughly 22" high by 17" wide(not including outside pockets) by 7" front to back. This is very well made pack, in very good condition. This is swiss workmanship at its best. It is great for the traditional camper or hiker, or collector.

The text section(page 53– 50) on the city of Berne, is missing as is a crest from the folding view of the city, however all of the plates are complete. A scarce and attractive work.
