6" Southbend, Logan, Sheldon lathe face plate
I am selling this 6" face plate that I have had since the 1970's. Never have used it. Never had a lathe to use it on. The face plate was a little rusty. I cleaned it up and it is fully functional. Four of the holes are tapped 3/8"16 and the other holes I will throw in for free. The mounting threads are 2-1/4" 8. I assume it mounts on Southbend. Logan and Sheldon lathes. I also have listed an 8" face plate with the same mounting threads. I will combine the $15.00 shipping if someone buys them both.

For your consideration: 1 Armstrong No.3-S lathe tool bit holder. This tool holder is for a larger type lathe. 8" in length 3/4" wide 1-5/8" high. It can hold a tool bit up to 1/2" The square 9/16" locking screw moves easily and is in very good condition. This top surface is not smashed or splayed out from being over tightened. Up for auction is a nice Jacobs Rubber-Flex collet chuck with a D1-4 mount. D1-4 spindle mount uses 3- 5/8” dia. pins on a 3.250” circle. I will include reprinted manual. This chuck has the usual dings and nicks. But overall looks good and operates smooth. This chuck weighs 25# But by removing the mount pins, I can ship it via USPS large flat rate box for $15.45. Sheldon lathe collet draw bar assembly with draw bar. Spacer, spindle adapter, and 12 Hardinge 3s collets. Draw bar has a nice wood handle. It is 13 3/8" long with spacer removed. Has 1 1/2" long spacer. The draw bar threads draw up a collet but have a couple stripped threads 7/16" of a inch up inside the bar. The draw bar has a 3/4" thru hole. The spindle adapter is in fine shape with a good pin. This is a Sheldon. American made lathe, overall size is app. 82" long, and 25" deep. It has 13" swing with 46" reach. These photos accurately represent both age and use but I will gladly provide any additional photos you might want. This Sheldon is fully operational, very precise and comes with three chucks. The 6" chuck currently mounted was purchased three years ago and is ready to work. A second 6" chuck is ok for rough work but should have the jaws reground for finish work. There is a 10" four jay chuck that came when I bought the lathe. We never have had a need to use it and honestly know nothing about is. It does fit the Sheldon but was never used by us. Here`s an old hand lever cross slide. I don`t know what it fits but maybe someone can use it. With a little work it could turned up and made into a milling attachment for a lathe. The bed area on top is about 3-1/2" x 11" the v`s are 4-9/16" on center, the bottom is about 5-3/4" x 4-5/8" It has a gib with four adjusting screws, it slides back and forth about 3-1/2" and with the handle off it will move quite a bit more. Steady rest for Sheldon 11-1/4" lathe
SHELDON STEADY REST FOR 11-1/4" LATHE This is a Sheldon steady rest for an 11-1/4" lathe. Model SE-56, from the mid-1940's. It should fit any 11-1/4" Sheldon lathe from 1941 to the mid 1950's. The top casting is marked XK576 and the bottom casting is marked XK575. The X's denote that it is a later, improved design of steady from the original. The steady rest is cast iron. It is missing the three original steel fingers that contact the work. And the bottom clamp and bolt that secures it to the lathe bed. It weighs about 10 pounds. If you make them. The dimensions of the three missing fingers are as follows: Overall size: 2.930" length X 0.930" width X 0.440" thickness. Dimensions of slot: 2.155" long X 0.475" wide. Starting 0.267" from the flat end of the finger. Tapered end is tapered ... moredown to a width of 0.330" starting 0.175" from the end. I bought it on Ebay some years ago as a second steady rest. But have never made the missing fingers for it! I repainted it last March with Rustoleum Dark Machine Gray paint.

Cushman Chuck 12 Lathe 4 Jaw Monarch South Bend Sheldon metal face plate vintage
This has some rust and dirt but the jaws move freely and smoothly. Might be a little tight, but after a derusting and some oil you will have a nice chuck.
