The blade is approximately 4-7/8" long, has been sharpened, and has scratches and some discoloring or patina. The handle is in good shape but has some discoloring and scratches. The fingerguard has a very slight wiggle but everything else is solid. For auction are three Norton sharpening stones. They all say NORTON Abrasives Medium India and are 6 inches long. The two square ones say MF-66 Made In United States of America. One is a bit harder to read. The round one also reads MF-266 and Made In U.S. of A. These were found in the bottom of an old toolbox. I have tried to show all sides in an attempt to show condition. A local vocational trade school has closed its machine shop program. The central machine shop as well as the smaller satellite shops are in the process of liquidating the tools and machinery. I will list these items as they are released for disposition. And will do my best to provide accurate descriptions. Sale is final so please feel free to ask any questions that you might have. Offered here is an End Mill Sharpening Fixture which was manufactured in Japan. This fixture is stored in the original box and comes equipped with(2) Spindles. 4) Bushings, and a Micrometer Adjust Indexing Finger. The bushing sizes are: 3/16" 3/8" 3/4" 7/8" The fixture needs one minor repair. There is a cast iron tab which the relieving pin pushes against and that has been broken. Apparently one of the students tightened the relieving spring ... moretoo tightly so when the lever was pushed for relief the tab was broken off) It is in the box and looks to be a relatively simple repair. The break does not affect the fixture itself and because of this I list it as needing repair. Other than that, the spindles and fixture itself look fine.

This antique hand-crank bench grinder/ sharpener is an exceptional example of early tool manufacturing in the USA. Clean. Complete and fully functional, it was manufactured in the early 1900's in Pike, New Hampshire at the Pike Mfg. Company. Weighing almost 13 pounds. The heavy-duty grinder features an 8 inch cast iron body, a 7 inch crank with a 3& 1/2 inch wood handle, two substantial bench clamps with a sturdy turn-screw, a 4 inch guide, and a 6 inch whetstone wheel. Original green paint is present on the cast iron body. Under the whetstone wheel on one side of the cast iron body. The grinder is marked in raised letters, Pike Mfg. Co. Pike N.H. I took off the whetstone to display it. See Photo) The reverse side of the grinder is marked in raised letters, Artisan 6" The grinder is in excellent condition. The Pike Family founded ... morethe Pike Mfg. Co in the early 1800's. The firm quarried stones for grinding from natural deposits in the area. They became to largest manufacturer and distributor of natural grit whetstones in the world. In the early 1900's. They introduced an impressive array of hand tools. During these years, the company was moved from Pike to Littleton, N.H. In 1932, 100 percent of the company was acquired by Norton and the Norton Pike Company emerged. This is an exceptional tool in exceptional condition with a lot of USA manufacturing history. Because of the weight of the grinder. Delta Rockwell #1296 Grinder Attachment For Drill Sharpening w/Instructions
An older(late 40's) attachment for the Delta Rockwell grinder. Model 1296, for sharpening drill bits from 1/8 thru 5/8" Will sharpen multiple angles and 2 to 4 lip bits. Has not seen a lot of use and is missing a couple of parts of which the most notable is the wheel dresser holder which was a separate piece for squaring your grinding wheel. On the holder for sharpening the bits it is missing the stop gage which is a threaded rod with a stop that allows you to rotate the bit without changing the depth for engaging the grinding wheel.
