Southwest Industries "Trav a Dial" GB-42 Indicator for Milling with Bracket!
Up for bid is a well used but working Trav a Dial. Model No. GB-42. The unit works great and is very sensitive. Included with the indicator is the quick release dovetail mount and a NOS lens that i had leftover from another order of parts. It will need some more cleaning but the grime and wear is strictly cosmetic, everything else functions properly. The tool has been engraved by the previous owner and there are other scuff marks present. I would recommend replacing the felt pad on the wheel but it would work right out of the box. This unit measures in increments of.001"

Trav-A-Dial indicator as shown in photos. Works. Turns freely and appears to me to measure accurately. I rolled it over a 6" distance and both upper and lower dials moved the correct amount. Original face plate and dial are missing. I found a replacement dial that doesn't fall off but can be taken off easily. I'll leave it to the buyer to decide if he wants to cement or crimp it for a tight fit. Also replacement clear plastic face plate does not stay on and will need to be cemented on if buyer wants to use it. Has some dings. Scratches and paint loss but case is NOT cracked. Trav-A-Dial Lathe Carriage Travel Indicator Moriseiki MS850 with bracket
Just removed this from my Moriseiki MS850 engine lathe. I installed a DRO so I could read two axis and don't need this anymore. It works great and I have used it for many years. This includes the mounting bracket that mounts directly to the Moriseiki lathe carriage. It has the factory notch in the bracket so the threading dial is not obstructed. The receiver mounting pad has an adjustable(with small setscrews) track on each side. This allows quick removal of the trav a dial. The track on the right side has a section missing and is cracked(zoom in on 2nd photo- the upper left section of the v way is missing and the upper right section is loose) It has been like this for many years and has not posed any problem. As the setscrews on the right side are accessible and can be easily adjusted to make up for this missing and loose section. This ... moreis very accurate and I have relied on it to make many very accurate parts. The paint is horrible on the bracket. Long story about my daughter wanting to help paint my lathe. TRAV-A-DIAL- Model 6A I picked this up at an auction for a shop that was closing down. Unit is used and in good condition. Seems to function properly. The hand rotates when the steel wheel at the front face of the unit is turned by hand. The small graduated knob also rotates when the hands rotate. There is no skipping or missing. Which would indicate a stripped gear inside, but I did notice a spot or two where it hangs abit. Possibly some dirt or a metal chip got inside and it just needs to be cleaned and lubricated. Dial face is dirty and faded. But readable. Please note that the the crystal that protects the dial. Is missing. Will need a new wiper also. I have not cleaned or done anything to the unit.
