This is a beautiful condition Brown& Sharpe BesTest dial indicator with.0005" resolution and.030" range(0-15-0 on the dial) There is a.080" diameter contact point attached to it(I checked it with a loupe and there are no nicks at all. I think it's carbide) The indicator works flawlessly, extremely smooth& responsive. The cosmetic condition is almost perfect, it looks like it was hardly used at all. There are no engravings or other non-factory markings on it. If it wasn't for a couple of very minor flaws in the crystal. I would have thought it was new. The case I'm including isn't a Brown& Sharpe, it's from a old Girod Tast indicator, but it's clean and will protect this indicator nicely(both brands were the same design) I'm also including a.156 diameter dovetail attachment that's ... morebrand new. This is a BROWN& SHARPE"BESTEST" dial indicator Kit#7031-3. This kit includes the dial indicator. The point wrench, a 7/32" mounting stud, a 1/4" mounting stud and the blue plastic case. This indicator measures in.0005" increments, which is very precise. It has a Swiss Make movement with a white dial face. These gages are the best that Brown& Sharpe makes and they are very precise indicators. It is marked ANTIMAGNETIC and SHOCKPROOF. The gage has been neatly etched with a previous owners name. It is under the dial and not that visable. There is not a mark on the face or anywhere else on the unit. My guess is that it was never used. It is that nice. Actually. Perfect condition. Great gage for the inspection department or your home shop.

I spent 30 years as a Special Machine Builder and Machinist. I retired from the tooling trade over 20 years ago so the time has come to pass along my precision tools and tooling to someone who has a use for them. For sale is my Dial Indicator. Case and all holding accessories shown. Purchased new in the late 60's. The indicator still has a very smooth movement. There are some small nicks along the dovetails but that won't hinder the reliability. The crystal is in very good condition. Comes with 3 carbide tipped needles and a 5.25" long multi-angle holding arm. The case shows wear on the outside and the inside has a mark in the foam from a hot metal chip.
