And he was having me learn solos from this book. These transcriptions were hard to come by at the time, and the book cost a pretty penny. There are some different guys that did some of these as you can tell by the handwriting. Some are full length solos and some are not. In one example they describe insulating a 3 inch steam pipe with 4-ply 1 inch thick air-cell insulation. It has been well established that air-cell pipe insulation contains asbestos. 2. In the reference tables they mention Rigid Asbestos for a roofing material. 3. Another table they provide mentions the specific heat of asbestos as 0.195. 4. On page142 they detail the use of compressor pump packing. The drawing points out the packing in the packing gland; although they do not say asbestos in this detail the packing was most likely asbestos packing in 1952. 5. On pages 47.
