Ltd. of London foot powered firefighters safety air supply pump. Made in London. England circa early- mid 1800's by Siebe Gorman& Co. LTD. It served as the firefighters lifeline, supplying air to the helmet which allowed them to go into a burning building. This pump used to pump fresh air into firefighters helmets using the double bellow operation. The heavy brass foot pedal was pressed down and using the tension of the large spring, air was sent to the firefighters helmet. In 1900's when advanced and more efficient firefighting tools was invented the air pump was used for the deep-sea diving helmet. The bellow system was used in a similar method to pump fresh ... moreair to divers helmets. When once again, further advances were made, the apparatus was used as a"FOG HORN" for maritime sailors and fishermen to sound out to approaching ships, or to alert sailors of on board dangers. Rare and Highly Unusual Article- A Genuine Antique SIEBE GORMAN Manual Bellow Air Pump System. Circa early 1900's. Just try and locate another such exact piece. This is absolutely one for serious collector's of either Maritime or Firefighting historical memorabilia. This is NOT restored. I bought this this from a Old Picker who is trying to sell off some of his collection He says he also has the Brass Diving Helmet that went with this in 1 of 2 fourty foot semi trailers in his yard and were packed 40 Years ago. I am in the process of helping him go through them, and Hoping to find the Brass Siebe Gorman Helmet It is an extremely beautiful ... moredisplay piece. And as well a very unique sample of historic ingenuity. It is a wag operated air supply pump for either a deep sea diving helmet or Firefighters smoke helmet. Such a piece is said to have been the original air pump used to pump fresh air into the safety helmet using the bellow system operation. Coming out of the bellow system was a hose that went to the Diver or rescuer. Using a system of tugs and pulls they would communicate how much air to pump to them. 1 tug meant more air, 2 tugs less air, and 3 tugs help me out. Into the 1900's more advanced and efficient methods. Which included oxygen tanks etc. forced such antiquated machines out of the market. With this, it is important to note that the Siebel Gorman Company added a large horn to the bellow pump and sold them as a Fire Siren. This particular one does not have the horn. RARE Deane Brothers/ Siebe Gorman Diving Helmet 1824 Replica. Museum Quality. Introduction Charles(1796) and John(1800) Deane lived in England. Both had experience at sea, John as a sailor and Charles as a caulker. In 1824. The Deane brothers made numerous test dives. They discovered the positive buoyancy. Due to the lack of weight of the hat and added weights. They discovered that the air exhaust was a vital part of the helmet. They drilled holes in the breastplate to encourage the exhaust but then found the bubbles obstructed the divers' view. The holes were then filled up again with lead plugs. When leaning forward. The water would rise so high inside the helmet that the divers' mouth and nose would be underwater. They attached a short jacket to the helmet and air exhausted at the divers' waist. This was a lot safer. The first ... morediving helmet was born! And inventor Charles Deane made a lot of successful salvage dives in his hat. He dived on many famous wrecks like the Royal George and the Mary Rose. Around 1834 the Deane brothers consult Augustus Siebe to turn their"smoke helmet" into a real divers helmet. This helmet was successfully used by Charles Deane in many salvage operations. He was not the only one. Other divers used the Deane equipment as well. One of them we already mentioned in the Deane section. It was a young and clever engineer, George Edwards. After using the Deane gear for over a year. He suggested safety improvements. His idea was to dress the diver in a full dress(instead of a short jacket) and clamp this dress. By means of 20 bolts, to the breastplate. Thus, the helmet could never flood again, even if the diver would stand on his head. The only thing Edwards wanted to reach was to improve safety underwater. For this reason he gave Siebe the full and free use of his diving dress design in 1838. Edwards did not take out a patent. To the general public Siebe was known as the Godfather of diving. A really neat old safety horn used to call the bell divers up to the surface. Made by SIEBE GORMAN& Co. Ltd. of London S.E.I. manufacturers of mine& safety equipment. I've been told these were also used by firemen as signal devices thru the smoke. And to sound warning before mine explosions! It's all brass. Mahogany wood, and leather. Very nice condition throughout, and works beautifully. I've managed to annoy the wife and a few of the neighbors! The horn and bellows measure 42" long overall, with the brass horn being 18 long and 10" across the bell. Weighs in at a full 10 lbs. I will have this professionally packed. Shipped and insured. But some quick research indicates that this is most likely made by The Siebe Gorman& Co in the mid 1800's as a FOG HORN for maritime sailors and fishermen to sound out to approaching ships that they were near, or a ships FIRE HORN to alert sailors of onboard dangers. I have included a photo that shows what the unit would like if it came complete with the the bellows. This listing is just for a brass horn. There is no longer a bellows with this item. Only a horn is included! There are some indentations and some staining on the horn as can be seen in the photos. It appears that that the front portion of the horn might have once been ... moresoldered to the bottom section. But now the front portion can be removed. The horn includes the screw on collar that would attach the horn to the bellows. When I run my finger tips across the bottom, I can hear the horn amplify the sound! Siebe Enviromental Controls, Duct Pressure Switch HVAC
Siebe duct pressure switch for hvac control. High quality. Made in Canada. It is in perfect working order and has been tested. It was removed from a Carel humidifier unit. This switch senses duct pressure when the duct is active through a 1/4 inch reference tube that attaches to the switch's diaphragm's barbed connector. The diaphragm has a barb on both sides for extra versatility. It will switch on either with a vacuum pressure present in the duct or a positive pressure present in the duct. In the case of the humidifier it was controlling. The switch was turning the humidifier on when the Air conditioner was cooling by sensing the AC duct pressure. Switch works with 24 volt circuits.

Antique Siebe Gorman & Co. (Ca. 1878) Smoke Helmet Instructions Advertising Rare
Antique Siebe Gorman& Co. Ltd. London, England(Ca. 1878)Instructions For Using Smoke Helmet Apparatus" This is an extremely rare instruction sheet made out of a thick cardboard type material made by Siebe Gorman& Co. Ltd. London, England in 1878 for use with their smoke helmets. These instruction sheets were usually included and mounted in the upper lids of the old wooden smoke helmet boxes the firefighters would lug around. These are usually never found and are the first things to deteriorate because of their fragile nature. This gem we found is in excellent condition for being almost 150 years old. We had it custom framed with UV glass as soon as we realized what we found. The instruction board is very fragile. There is obvious discoloration. Some rips, water damage(which makes it extremely cool) and warping to the instruction ... moresheet due to age. Amazingly the printed wording, images and original metal eyelets for hanging are all present& very clear. The back of the board was blank and just had staining and wear. We had this piece custom framed which cost us a few hundred dollars. It was worth it because it gives us and you piece of mind that it will survive another 150 years. We choose a simple raised black frame with gold trim. There is extra space added and the framer did an excellent job to at leaving enough space so the warped board has no tension at all. The Instruction is original to the time period& altogether it is a beautiful display altogether. Measurements: 16.5 inches in H. 17.25 inches in L& 1.5 inches in D. Weighs about 10 pounds in the frame. Makes an incredible addition if you already have one of Siebe Gorman's bellows or actual helmets. This piece is amazing& a true collectors item. As stated. They rarely ever come up come up sale mostly due to to the fact that they are scarce as heck. Always a conversation piece! Please feel free to ask any questions& I will get back to you promptly. Here is a very rare SIEBE GORMAN brass"sandshoe" Being part of a helmet divers boot. From my research this particular shape is one of the first,if not the first made by Siebe Gorman. This shape dates to the early 1900s, but may be late 19th century. Description Vintage 1960's UK Military MOD Siebe Gorman& Co. Scuba Diving Diver Torch Light This is a rare Siebe Gorman diver's light. From what i understand. This version was used by the British Ministry of Defense(MOD) and this light is stamped with the military reference code and the"arrow" which indicates an MOD item. This light has the older sewn-on leather hand strap and the newer models had riveted straps. Light will run off of three"C" size batteries. The light is in very good working condition. Very little signs of use on the actual light. Some light marks and dirt on the leather strap. Looks to be some light dust inside the clear lens of light but this does not seem to effect anything. Past owner has stenciled"2-1965" date on the item and has stenciled the end cap of light. Past owner was ... morea big scuba diver in Florida back in the 1960's and a lot of his equipment was ex-military gear bought as surplus. Which probably explains the British MOD stencils on light. Pre WW1 WW2 Rare 1878 Siebe Gorman Fireman's Rescue Smoke Mask Helmet & Bellow
This is an early Siebe Gorman smoke mask& wood. Leather, brass& iron bellow. The helmet largely of toughened lacquered leather with simple safety/exhaust valve to top, makers plate, twin mica hinged square ports with securing pin. These full face helmets are very rare& found mostly in museum collections. It's signed on a brass plaque. It was manufactured by Siebe Gorman and Co. The front has doors that swing open and use Mica to see through. The window frame is aluminum. Aluminum was a new& valuable metal, durable, lightweight, and resistant to tarnishing. At the time, it was considered quite rare and valuable. These helmets would attach to a long hose that ran to a foot operated bellows. It looks like the inspiration for designs of Darth Vader and C3PO have been uncovered. Antique 1878 Siebe Gorman Fireman's Smoke Helmet: Life Line Harness Vest Rare
Antique 1878 Siebe Gorman Fireman's Smoke Helmet: Life Line Harness Vest: Very rare 1878 Siebe Gorman smoke helmet life line harness vest. The harness vest is made of a super thick padded canvas material. There appears to be no major flaws to the material except for of course staining which is expected since this piece was actually used in the field. The vest closes via 2 leather belt type of straps. This vest was kept up very well as the straps still close with ease and there is little to dryness or flaws to the leather. On the right side the vest is stamped with the Siebe Gorman logo. There is some wear to the print and wording but it can still be made out very well. The back of the harness vest is very interesting. Please note the metal harness and the interesting metal piece below it. Attached to the upper metal bracket is the infamous ... morelifeline rope. The rope is original to the time period; I am unsure how many feet of rope there is since I did not want to mess with it and unravel it. Note the interesting knot in which the rope is attached to the bracket. Please Note: this item is almost 150 years old and although in amazing condition for its age. May suffer from flaws associated with age, the elements and handing. The mannequin dress form is not included in the sale. See pictures for condition issues. Weighs about 15 pounds mostly do to the weight of the rope. The vest itself is is quite heavy as well on it's own do to the thick material and padding. Since the harness is adjustable the measurements will vary. The harness vest is displayed on a life size medium size male vintage mannequin form for a sense of size. Makes an incredible display if you already have one of Siebe Gorman's smoke helmets. Or the foot powered bellows. Looks very cool on a mannequin display as well like I have pictured. Really important piece of firefighting history which has become quite rare to find. Always a conversation piece.

England this served as the firefighters lifeline, supplying air to the helmet which allowed them to go into a burning building. This pump used to pump fresh air into firefighters helmets using the double bellow operation. The heavy brass foot pedal was pressed down and using the tension of the large spring, air was sent to the firefighters helmet. Item is in excellent condition for being almost 150 years old. Still works but is tied down in the closed position. The leather is in excellent condition free of any rips. Tares or discoloration. The"Siebe Gorman& Co.
