Ashcroft American Battey Machinery Pressure Gauge Rome GA Georgia Made In USA
You are bidding on an Ashcroft American Battey Machinery Co. pressure gauge. Battey Machinery was once located in Rome. GA. This gauge is in good used condition. The dial bezel measures 5 inches in diameter and the glass is not cracked. The face of the dial reads Battey Machinery Co. Rome, GA and the contains the Ashcroft American logo. The bezel is removable for cleaning if you desire. The gauge is a little rusty but it has a wonderful patina. Ashcroft American Steam Pressure gauge. Made in Bridgeport, Conn. The gauge appears to be cast iron and brass with a reading from 0-60. On the face is an inscription which reads"5-16-62" R7" The gauge face is 4" in diameter. The front glass is missing from the gauge. The needle on the gauge responds to air blown in the inlet. This is a heavy cast iron gauge. I do not see a patent date but believe its around 1910, you be the judge, could be polished up or painted, the red needle sets it off. I think the bottom part is brass because a magnet doesn't stick to it. On the front it says American Radiator Company. A.S.M.E. Interna l Siphon Gauge. And on the very bottom is a sma l l logo that says Ashcroft. American, Bridgeport, Conn. On the face of the gauge there are sma l l rust spots as you can see in the pictures.
