Vintage steam gauge marked The Ashcroft Mfg. Co. New York. This gauge has a black painted case with brass trim and a silvered face. The face and dial are simple in design and has a second hand that is red. The numbers go from zero to seventy in increments of ten. The face also has the word altitude at the bottom. There is minor imperfections on the outside of the case. Please view all pictures. Measures 6" diameter. This piece came from a collection found locally. The St. John's Cross is also known as the Amalfi. Maltese, Regeneration, Fishtail, Honour, Knights, Campaign, and Iron Cross. This altitude gauge measures 3 11/16 inches in diameter. Beautiful Vintage 1912 Brass& Steel Altitude Gauge. I could not find any other info about this. The size is about 5 3/4" across. The condition is very good. Please look at all pics and judge condition for yourself. There is still some tarnish that appears as a reddish line around the brass surface. Shadows on some of the pics appear as dents but the next pics show the surface better. This would make a beautiful decorator piece or a great addition to any collection. Feel free to ask questions. Antique 5" altitude gauge made by the American Steam Gauge& Valve Mfg. Co. Boston, and Patented in 1903. Produced for Libby& Blinn of Hartford CT. Gauge is dirty, and no dial glass or rim, if it ever had any. Heavy steel case with a rear diameter of 6 5/16" and face diameter of 5 3/8" It is 1 5/8" in thickness. Dial face is brass, hands are original and in good condition. Gauge was purchased from an estate and is as found out of long term storage.

Altitude gauge was made in New York U.S. the number stamped on the bottom of the face appears to be 212C56 but I am not certain about that. 12 inch altitude gauge
This is a very heavy(12 + lbs. 12 inch altitude gauge by Ashcroft co. It is from Bridgeport Conn. On the face it says that the patent dates are on the inside. The back appears to be copper and the front is probably aluminum. It looks to be in very good condition although I have no way of knowing if it works.

This antique Altitude gauge. Measures approximately 6" in diameter, and weighs 2.8 lbs. On the face of this gauge, is, THE ASHCROFT MFG. CO/ NEW YORK/ REG US PAT OFF/ ALTITUDE/ 37331-001" This gauge appears to have an iron housing, with a brass stem/ rim. The glass is missing from the face of this gauge. I am not sure of the age of this gauge, but I would guess early 1900's. I doubt that this gauge would be functional after all this time. Up for auction is an Ashcroft altitude gauge. It is in exceptional working order. The brass valve on it turns freely as well. I put pressure to it and it appeared to function perfectly. There is corrosion on the brass vernier around the face. It appears to have the original glass in it as well. No cracks or chips in the face of the glass.

The Walworth Manufacturing Company The Walworth Manufacturing Company began in 1842 as Walworth and Nason(W&N) under the operation of James Jones(JJ) Walworth in partnership with his brother-in-law. Joseph Nason. The 2 men started out in New York and soon moved to Boston where they were classified as engineers and iron tube manufacturers primarily in the heating industry. Before long, this new company was involved in the installation of boilers, hot water and steam heating systems in large buildings, textile mills and ships. This was a pioneer industry at the time. Heating contractors and the science of central heating installation did not exist. Yet the need ... morefor central heating. Especially in large buildings, was desperately needed. The conventional stoves and hot air furnaces used in the mid-1800's were inadequate and the W&N company met the need at a most appropriate time. The creativity of Walworth and Nason led them to build finned pipes coiled into compact enclosures to produce what we would now simply call a radiator. This new invention made life much more pleasant in hotels, churches, theatres and homes. Hi! Nice vintage Ashcroft gauge. To be honest. I'm not sure why they label this an"altitude" gauge as it clearly appears to be a pressure gauge although it's not marked in"PSI" or anything like that. The lens is great, a bit dirty but no cracks although I have not removed it from the gauge to inspect. Overall it clearly shows use but everything appears to be superficial although I'm not sure how well it will clean up. The needle does move when you blow into the port which is 1/4" NPT male pipe thread. There is one of the tiny thumb screws missing but the other two unscrew. The springs for the dial face are there(two on the bottom, one on top) No dents on the ring or the case that I can detect. Overall diameter is 5.5" and it's about 1.75" thick. Vintage Taylor Altitude Auto Altimeter Gauge - 0 to 5000 Foot - Steam Punk
You are bidding on a Vintage Taylor Altitude Altimeter gauge. The gauge face shows measurements from 0 to 5000 feet. There is a brass bezel holding the face on. The gauge case is either Bakelite or plastic and has a great Art-Deco look to it. The mounting arm is still attached to the bottom of the case. There is a dial adjustment arm on the right side of the case. This could make a nice addition to your vintage gauge. Air-o-nomics, instrumentation or steam punk collections! Dimensions: Approx. LARGE 5.25" ASHCROFT ALTITUDE PRESSURE Gauge, Vintage, Brass, COLLECTABLE !!
Beautiful and Collectable Condition! Extremely well preserved early-century 5.25" ASHCROFT Altitude pressure gauge. Brilliantly clean and well preserved brass face. Original coloring in embossed lettering and logo. Brass trim ring held in place by a pair of cotter pins. A pair of period correct indicator needles. One black and one red, compliment the colors of this gauge, making it a t errific addition to any collection. Heavy cast iron body free of rust of other deterioration. Inside of gauge is as brilliant as exterior. A true survivor. A full 2" thick and 5.25" across the face. Gauge is still responsive to air pressure. Threads on syphon tube are well preserved and strait. Thick casting of this body compliment the construction of this gauge making it a very heavy piece.
