A piece of US Soft drink history. This sign dates back to as early as the 1930s/40s. It is a stamp embossed metal sign. Perhaps aluminum, created for Royal Crown Cola. The sign has been screen printed in three colors, with blue, and red letters on a field of yellow. It was acquired while the bosses here at Studio Antiques, Sally& Laurence Martin, were in New Jersey taping an episode of the travel channels Baggage Battles TV show. This sign is approximately 19 7/8 inches wide. And 10 1/4 inches tall. This sign weighs approximately 8 ounces. Condition- The condition of this sign is very nice for it's age. Vintage Red Glass Exit Sign Industrial Art Deco Movie Black Letters
Nice Exit Globe sign. The black letters were used in Movie theaters to keep it darker and this is a very cool piece. Their is an internat crack in the globe at the spine as you can see in the picture and can be seen when light is put to it. I value my feedback and list everything I see. Awesome lot of 8 vintage cast aluminum marquis letters by Wagner Sign Service. Inc. Completely original condition. You will receive exactly what is pictured. All are worn with peeling original paint. Two are damaged- the"I" has been crudely repaired. And one of the"A"s is missing the top point. The other 6 letters, A, C, N, O, R, and T, are in great shape structurally. All are marked on the back: WAGNER SIGN SERVICE INC. CHICAGO DETROIT NEW YORK PATENT NO 2048040. From the late'30s, the patent was issued in 1936. There's an interesting patent infringement case relating to these letters, you can read about it online by googling the patent number and company name. These measure about 7-3/4" high.
