PICK UP ONLY This lighted wall display case/ menu board is approximately 40" x 30" x 7 1/4" It could be sat on a level surface and displayed that way also. This case has a plexiglass front that has a flimsy plastic advertising scene for Timberland behind it. To change scenes/ take out the plexiglass you need to unscrew the screws around the edges. There's a hole at the top and bottom for whichever way you want the cord to go. It is very heavy. Looks be be homemade- it is a solid piece. Could be used in a den. Rec room, man cave, etc.

The advertising pieces for Yeast Foam Tablets and Yeast Foam Malted Milk are in metal frames and covered by a plastic or celluloid type of cover to protect them. This was made to stand on the counter top and hold the menu inside. The menu is no longer inside this display so is not included. The cover on this one- titled MENU- features a waitress with a tray of drinks. This particular Menu cover is from S. and S. Confectionery. W.E. Stallard, Prop. The inside advertising pieces feature attractive ladies with advertising for the Yeast Foam products. The back piece pictures Harold E. Red Grange with caption"Yeast Foam Malted Milk is my favorite beverage" Along the edges of the metal ... moreframe is printed.Property of B.E. Lawrence& Co. Inc. 400 E. The covers have a few scuffs and there may be some light spotting in places but overall the display looks good. The metal frames show age wear as would be expected. Large sign advertising Schlitz beer was probably used in a store to post the price for six packs. 12oz, cases etc. The sign is made of plastic and metal. It is probably from the 60's or 70's? Not sure. The sign has thin, clear plastic pieces that are movable to advertise what you want. The pieces fit into grooves- the pieces available are shown. The sign measures 35" long x 9" high and 4" deep. It is a lighted sign- has a pull chain on it. The cord is in decent shape. The sign does light up- as shown in photo. It measures 10" x 8" with the area available for the photo etc being 7.5" x 5.5" There are a couple of nibbles in the glass, although none of them is visible on the front. VINTAGE HIRES ROOT BEER CHALK BOARD DISPLAY LUNCH MENU SIGN BD-4
Up for auction is a wonderful vintage BD-4 Hires Root Beer cardboard sign with chalkboard. This measures approximately 14" x 27" and was made in U.S.A from I believe the 1950's. The graphics and colors are real vibrant and it displays beautifully. It does have a few minor condition issues that will be noted but in my opinion do not detract from the beauty of this piece. There is a light crease in the lower left corner that is more visible from the back but barely from the front. There is a soft spot and paper crinkle in the bottom center border that is visible from the front and back which is the most significant flaw. It looks like at some point in time there was a type of clip the secured the sign at the bottom center and that resulted in the flaw. There is also about a 2" paper wrinkle in the letter"n" in the ... moreword drink that is barely noticeable. Lastly. There are a few light stains and paper indentations that are very hard to see but need to be disclosed. All things considered, this piece is in excellent condition considering it's age and also the fact that it is made of cardboard which is not as robust a material as your typical metal sign. There weren't too many of these cardboard signs that made it out of the soda shop in one piece! I've taken many close-up pictures so you can see all aspects of the sign and please don't hesitate to contact me should you need to see anything else. This is a fantastic survivor from back in the day when the daily specials at the local luncheonette would be posted on a chalkboard that reminded you to order a delicious Hires root beer with your meal. For sale is this nice vintage Restaurant Message/Menu Black Chalk board with carved smiling pig on top. It has a wooden frame with holder for the chalk. The board measures 23.5" tall and 11 3/4" wide. There are some scratches on the board and it is a little faded but that's what gives it the nice vintage look and character. Very unique.
