Keating Instant Recovery 14IFM Deep Fryer 3 Pot w/Left Dump Station
As anyone who is interested in this fryer is probably aware. Keating builds their fryers like tanks. The stainless steel thickness and quality is unsurpassed. I was originally goijng to keep this unit as a spare depending on what I found when I took it apart. I suspected that after 10 years in use that it might have a leaking pot but it turned out that only the thermostat sensor connections were leaking. Proper high temp Loctite was all that was necessary. As the pictures attest, the unit was completely disassembled and cleaned, including separating each fry unit from the other and cleaning the sides in-between. Other than the leaking sensor connections the unit was 100% functional before it was taken out of service. I repaired and replaced parts as needed. It didn't need much. The lower part of the center heat deflectors were worn away ... moreat the rear so those were replaced. All burner chamber seals were replaced. The molded rear ceramic insert seals were replaced as needed. New air tubes were installed and new rear swivel casters replaced the fixed, worn originals. The original incandescent indicator lights on the front panels have been mostly replaced with LEDs. I will replace all of them before the unit ships. As much as I might like to keep the unit I don't have room for it. The unit will be fully tested before delivery and I am happy to set the unit up for a buyer so they can verify operation before delivery in Watertown, MA. The unit was originally set up to optionally use solid fat but all that wiring has been removed to it will only run with liquid oil. New this unit exceeds $25,000.
