It was made in France ... moreand is so marked on the back of the spool cover. There is a number on the foot which is 641593. Cosmetically, the reel is in pretty decent shape, as are the graphics. There is a little rub on the black finish at the back of the frame and two small spots on the spool cover. Mechanically, the reel is in good working order. The action is smooth and the anti-reverse, clicking and drag mechanisms all work fine. The bail is strong. Please take a look at the enlarged photos, as they accurately depict the condition of this reel. I ship internationally with the exception of anywhere in South America. Vintage Shakespeare 2081A DA spin reel This large spin reel was made in USA. in 1970 and wieghs almost 20oz. It is in excellent condition and everything works perfectly. It comes with a dark red colored metal body, good strong bail, smooth drag, good anti-reverse, rolling roller and smooth as butter quiet gears. It shows wear in the paint in all the regular spots& edges. It has a 3.2/1 gear ratio and will hold 330 yds. of 12 lb.test it is a very good quality reel, and is a grade 8/9+. This is a great reel to fish with, I have been fishing with these reels for almost 50 years and caught thousands of fish on them. Few reels have rollers that roll as well& consistantly( teflon sleeves work as well if not better than bearings) The oil soaked leather drag washers were the best at the time. Up for your consideration is a fine example of an Ambassadeur 5000C De Luxe. This reel is in excellent shape with just some minor rubs on the sideplates and a touch of paint loss on the rim. The gold plate is bright and shiny. Based on the serial number this reel was probably made in the early to mid 70's. Someone has changed the handle at some point. this is a used penn 14/0 that is in excellent shape it is in beautiful shape for its age. overall cosmetically its a 8.5 out of 10 and mechanically its a 9 out of 10. it was recently cleaned and serviced after being in storage for some time. Vintage 1940s Hurd SuperCaster Detroit casting fishing reel with rod and case
A vintage 1940s era fishing reel and rod with case. Found on estate cleanout stored in garage. Am NOT a fisherman or collector. As is condition. Please ask any questions before bidding. The case must have gotten wet at one time. The metal rod inside is rusty, as is the fishing rod to put into the end of the reel. See photos. Would need restoration. The reel is worn from usage and age. Everything seems to move freely. Again, am not a fisherman or collector. Is stamped: Hurd SuperCaster Detroit: serial number 66722. Dirty, would need cleaning.
