Bought this reel at a garage sale years ago and was surprised when I removed the old line. It has the most corroded spool I have ever seen. But I put new line on it and the reel turned out to be my favorite. Smooth drag. Full gears, good bearings, and no internal damage from salt. The spools are very thick material. For sale here is a pair of carefully used. Choice condition PENN International 30 SW 2-speed. Lever drag, deep sea trolling reels, serial numbers I941291 and B941226. They are complete with rod clamps and acorn nuts. This is a 30 lb. class reel and is designed to hold a huge 900 yards of 30 lb monofilament line and. Of course, a larger amount of modern braid. Both reels are presently spooled with mono of unknown strength and because of the difficulty in removing all of that line, I cannot express an opinion on the condition of the spool's surface beneath, but there is nothing that indicates a problem to me.
