This was the largest tackle box in the Winchester line with two removable trays, both of which are included with box. This is pretty unusual as many trays are lost, especially the small one in the lower compartment. The Winchester trade mark is painted inside the top lid. Condition is really very good considering the age and how the piece was used in life. There are the usual dents and scratches from usage, light surface corrosion(but no holes or feathering of the tin material) paint wear. Owner's initials painted on the front. But the original green paint is mostly intact as well as the interior black Japaning. Latches still work and the wooden handle weathered but intact. A picture of the box's listing on page 184 in the 1926/27 Winchester Store catalog is shown. Reserve price on this item is $300. Everything operates well but I'm sure it would be even better if cleaned and oiled on the inside. I'm not qualified to go there. All I've done is wiped the dust off the outside. Vintage GRICE& YOUNG Avon Royal Trotting Centre Pin Fishing Reel c.1960 Ref: HS I am offering for auction a vintage GRICE& YOUNG Avon Royal Centre Pin Trotting Reel. I am uncertain of the age of this reel. But guess it dates to the 1960's or thereabouts. The reel measures 3 3/4" in diameter and is in fairly good condition with no major faults. Whilst there are quite a few scratches and blemishes. With some wear to the paint finish, mainly around the outer rims, physically the reel is in pretty good condition. The spool spins freely for about 20 seconds i n both directions. With no binding and little or no free play or wobble. The check is operated by a lever. Which engages a ratchet with a nice even click. The spool is released by a finger operated latch, which is retained by three screws and there is a central adjustment ... morescrew, which takes up any free play. Please note. The foot has been modified/filed, certainly at one end- probably both(see photos) Whilst the width at each end is slightly narrower than usual. It still fits a fairly standard/modern reel seat. The black ebonite handles turn freely on their spindles. As the reel is not quite perfect it is offered with a fairly low start price or reasonable"Buy Now" option. Only half od the label is readable as seen in the pics. But a quick google search filled in the blanks for me. I see no visible brand name. This little guy shows obvious signs of heavy use and age, light to medium rusting. It has some scrapes, rubs, and scuffs, but no cracks or breaks and looks complete. The reel is extremely dirty and needs cleaning. It does not have a very smooth crank and I have not opened it up for inspection. This vintage Garcia Mitchell 306 spinning reel in rough shape but still works. It seems mechanicaly in good working order. Physically it has corrision. Rust, missing paint and the bail is missing(there are a couple pieces for bail attached to reel photos show them) It retrieves fine but seems a little tight. It has original instruction book. Has a quick release spool for line. I tried to undo the handle to spin it but couldn't move the lock nut.
