The 2000 was one of seven of the series of free spool models. The reel was not serialized but stamped"Made in Sweden" on the foot. The large knurled aluminum knob is part of the drag system which was incorporated into the handle. By tightening the knob to a desired tension. You could apply drag washer pressure against the drive gear assembly which is similar to the conventional star drag wheel. Holding the handle still you will notice the knurled knob rotating when the fish made his run. This reel is rare to find in this condition in its original box. Vintage used Hardy Bros. Ltd fly reel. This reel was made in Alnwick England and is Hardy Bros. Ltd 3 1/8" The'Perfect' flyreel. Patent numbers stamped on the side read: 24245&9261. It also has stamped Duplicated Mark II. The zippered padded case it comes with was made by H J Collins Mfg. Co. As near as we can tell this reel is right hand retrieve. Research found extra reels available. This reel comes apart by holding the inner reel while turning the handle counter clock wise. Once you take the reel apart you can see the small ball bearings in the center that give this such a smooth reeling motion. We also ran a small test on the crossbars to make sure they weren't nicked or worn and would cut away at your line. By running yarn across both sides of each crossbar we were able to determine there appear to be no burs on ... morewhich to cut your fly line. Up for bid is one vintage SEA GULL- German Silver& Bakelite Salt Water Reel. It has a strong clicker controlled by a slide button on the back plate. It has a lever handle to disengage the handle for free spin of spool. It has a knurled knob at each end of the axle with a spider spring at one end. It has a 2:1 gear ratio. It measures 3-1/4" diameter. 3-3/4" deep counting the handle, and has a 3" long by 11/16" wide foot. The reel is in good working condition. On the handle side it is inscribed with"SEA GULL" and"GERMAN SILVER" Above the words'SEA GULL' there is a flying Sea Gull, and on each side there is'TRADE' and'MARK' There is some writing below the words SEA GULL that is to faint to read any of it. Used Vintage Penn Senator 14/0 Fishing Reel 117 L #1
Here we have a used vintage Penn Senator 14/0 fishing reel. This is the older style with the metal spool. The reel is in overall good condition. The beauty rings are slightly rough and one has a small crack in it as seen in picture 6. The handle is in the roughest shape with lots of scratching and chrome loss as seen in picture 5. The spool is in great shape and the crossbars are good overall with some minor chrome loss. It functions great and I cleaned this reel about a year ago and have never used it since. I believe I put one new bearing. A new bridge sleeve and a couple new drag washers in it. It includes the rod clamp and both harness lugs. The handle will be removed for easier shipping and the reel will be packed very securely. No international shipping on this item. Feel free to ask any questions.
