Penn Senator 4/0 Special 113H Reel, Wire Line, Very Good Working Condition
Check out my! Offered for your consideration is a Penn Senator 4/0 Special 113H Reel. I bought it in the 1980’s. Used it for a few codfish trips then stored it away. About 5 years ago I put it back into use for wire line trolling. The reel is in very good working condition and is in good cosmetic condition. It has pinpoint corrosion found on the chrome parts of these used reels, and some green corrosion on the metal spool. The reel now has a backing of 200’ of dacron line with three 100’ sections of 50 pound test stainless steel wire line. Each section has a 10’ dacron section between the wire line sections. I’ve carefully maintained the reel the entire time I’ve owned it. Most items I offer are vintage. Antique or estate so they may show wear consistent with age. I describe items as I see them. This Auction is for a Penn 920 Ball Bearing REEL. THESE REELS ARE GETTING HARDER TO FIND AND ARE USUALLY SOUGHT AFTER BY COLLECTORS AND ANGLERS. This reel is close to mint. The only differences between this reel and the one I had some weeks ago is, There are a few more scratches on this one but, this one has the original box and papers. It's hard to find the box for these reels and it's even harder to find the second piece of the box with the flaps still intact. I took photos of the inside before I put it back together to give everyone an idea of how it looks inside. I don't believe this reel was ever taken apart until I acquired it. It has open access drags. Scratches are the only thing that keeps this reel from being mint. You can change the drag washers without taking the whole reel apart. I serviced it completely replaced the two eared metal drags and installed a new fiber washer underneath the main gear. The clamp comes with it, I removed it so it would be easier ... moreto ship. Here we have a used vintage Penn Senator 14/0 fishing reel. This is the older style with the metal spool. The reel is in overall good condition. The beauty rings are slightly rough and one has a crack in it as seen in the top of picture 4. The spool is in great shape and the crossbars are all near mint except for two that have chrome loss. It functions great and I cleaned this reel about a year ago and have never used it since. I believe I put one new bearing. A new bridge sleeve and a couple new drag washers in it. It includes the rod clamp and both harness lugs. The lugs are beat up a bit. The handle will be removed for easier shipping and the reel will be packed very securely. It shows some normal signs of wear as can be seen in the photos. Actually pics make the chrome side plate rings look far more scrached up then they are. PENN Senator 14/0 Fishing Trolling Reel
For sale here is a used black handle. Chrome-plated brass spool, PENN SENATOR 14/0 star drag, deep sea trolling reel and it is complete with both rod brace assemblies, rod clamp and retaining nuts. This is also known as PENN's Model 117. It is designed to bring in the largest of game fish and carries 750 yards of 130 lb. test monofilament line and of course a much larger amount of modern Spectra or Braid. It is presently spooled with expensive, thick and strong dacron line which is especially good for bottom or shark fishing. Because of the difficulty of removing all of that line, I can't express an opinion on the condition of the spool surface beneath the line but there is really little that can happen to these durable chrome-plated brass spools. Vintage& functional. Classic PENN"SENATOR 3/0" BIG GAME REEL, still in fairly good overall condition visually, but spool turns slower than it should and slightly binds when handle is turned. Lubrication or? so*PARTS ONLY! on this black& chromed PENN Reel. Features classic black"Bakelite" type sideplates with chromed brass inside& outside rim guards s held apart by six(6) chromed brass pillars with open top for thumbing the spool of course. Also has the HD reel seat with factory rod strap, plus chromed spool, small parts, counter-balanced handle with green"swirl" plastic finger grip as well. This Senator 3/0 Reel probably dates back into the 1960s era, and has already stood the test of time. Measuring about 3 1/4" across from left sideplate with chromed bearing cover& functioning"clicker" ... morebutton to the right sideplate with free spool lever& raised gear box molded into the plate. Reel diameter is approx. 3 51/4" with left sideplate clearly marked: PENN Senator" just below the spool ends bearing cover, plus has"Game Fish Reel" imprinted below. Right sideplate has typical circular logo imprint reading: PENN" Senator 3/0" Made In U.S.A. Pat'd" as well. There are NO cracks, dings, dents, or other"problems" visible on the sideplates, though one of the chromed brass guard on outside has a hairline crack at the 4 O'clock screw-hole position, typical of PENN rim guards of course and affects nothing. The pillars, reel seat, spool, handle, star drag, plus small parts parts all show minor"freckling" to chromed surfaces, just as you'd expect after close to half a Century in this climate. Reel functions quite normally still: spool release lever works correctly, as does the clicker, star drag& handle. just spool slightly binds when handle is turned(Go figure! so being sold for*PARTS ONLY! Penn 750 SS High Speed 4.6:1 spinning reel made USA Spooled with Monofilament
Up for bid is a vintage Penn 750ss spinning reel spooled with monofilament(test unknown) It is fully functional but does have some minor wear/scratches which are mainly on the reel handlle housing side. The are also some minor marks on the reel spool. The covering that fits over the trip bumper has broken off but has no affect on the tripping/closing of the bail.
