Theone spool is still in the original spool case and has never been used and as a matter of fact, it still has the original information band around the spool. The remaining spools are used and considering their age, they are in usable condition. One does have some rust on the retaining ring. The other one does not have a retaining ring and I am not sure if it actually came with one, as the drag seems to work without it. Mitchell 300 This is one of the later reels made in the far east after the French factory closed in 1988. As such it has the later M8. 4.2:1 g earin g and no serial numeber. Little used if at all and i n perfect working order. It's very smooth and quiet to wind and the bail return is really good. T he silent optional anti reverse also locks positively. A really nice looking reel. The lettering is all pristine. T he black paint finish is excellent but there is just one tiny round paint chip on the lower edge of the cover plate near the gasket. This is a vintage Garcia Mitchell 300 fishing reel that is missing the handle and has a couple other problems. One. The bale does not flip over like it should, it sticks about half way over. Two the anti reverse does not work most of the time, it slips a bit. So with that in mind, if you are looking for some good parts or want a reel to repair, this may be the one for you. It does turn smoothly and could be fixed up. The line would need to be replaced as I don't know how old it is.

Vintage Mitchell 300 Reels Parts Box Handles Spools Springs Screws Etc.
This auctions is for Mitchell Reel Parts. One Reel is complete and in good working condition. Two of the 300s shown are for parts only. They do have all of the internal parts gears etc. There are two screw on handles, three spools with caps one is a shallow spool, a spring and some screws see photos. The Mitchell red and black box is a plastic Mitchell box, there is a small crack near the latch but it still works good. There is also a mark inside the box from a rubber worm. These are good used parts that can be cleaned and reused on Mitchell 300 reels.

Mostly around the spool but- overall the reel is nice! These"made in France" Reels are and were workhorses in the fishing industry. Reel seems to function and wrok very smoothly. Here we have a RARE find and that would be an older vintage Mitchell no 300 spinning reel that is complete with an extra spool[ in it;s case with both being MINT and in their original box complete with the Mitchell booklet. Serial number is on the side of the body[ not on real seat where later ones were] and looks to be 141437 which dates it to 1953 I believe. Real is just perfect and shows no signs of being used. Still has the Garcia Product sticker. reel works fine. Spool is mint as is it's case which is marked Large.Booklet is fine with no damage. Normal 0 4 Garcia Mitchell 300 Parts- Side Plate from different versions of the 300 There are 4 side plates. 2 are of the later type seen in the 1970s, the other 2 are older and have the boomerang anti-reverse. One of the older ones has the square cuts on the anti-reverse. These came in the red and black CB box usually. The last one is the oldest and does not have have Garcia on it. Prior to the last one they just engraved"Mitchell" on the side plate and nothing else. These were cleaned with boiling water and simple green so you won't greas y. These should all serve you well. Normal 0 7 Garcia Mitchell 300 Frames& 2 301 Frames- Fit 300 Series There is a total of 9 frames in good condition. They all suffer from bad looks but are quite functional and coul d be used for repair/replacement or building a new reel. Krylon makes a semi-gloss black that is almost a perfect match for Mitchell black. The earliest 300s are more of a flat black. Using wet& dry sand paper start with 240 or 320 and get the rough stuff off. Once you have that done. Switch to 400 or 500 grit. Al l of the reels I fish with are made from parts and some I have had to paint. Vintage Garcia Mitchell 300, seventh version spinning reel #413054
Fishing Up for consideration is a vintage Garcia Mitchell 300 spinning reel made in France. This is a seventh version of the Mitchell 300 series of reels. These reels were produced from 1967 to 1976. This reel bares serial number A601383 on the foot so this reel which places the manufacture in 1971/72. The reel appears to be correct in all respects. Overall. This reel is in very good condition for it's age, Mechanically, the reel functions properly with all operations checked. Cosmetically, the reel is in very good condition with a nice finish overall. The only wear found on this reel includes paint wear to the bottom edges of the case, edges of the rotating head, tip of the axel housing and on the tips of the foot. Despite these minor flaws, this reel presents very well with it's vivid graphics and black finish. This is a great reel ... morethat will make an excellent addition to a vintage tackle collection.
