But lever is a little“floppy” Bail flips crisply and correctly and reel operates smoothly…no problem there. Serial number on foot of reel is A650540. Previous owners name is scratched on the bottom of the spool that’s on the reel. Scratches and hard residue on side of reel as pictured. Reel is for parts/and or repair and use. Not the prettiest one by far! Also included in the lot are five Mitchell spools that all will fit the 300. I’m not sure if the correct spools are in the correct cases. I have no idea of the line capacity of any of the spools whereas they all contain line. All need cleanup. One spool is in a metal case and one is in a clear sided case that has damage. In any event. Vintage - Mitchell 300 (Stripped & Polished) Fishing Reel
A Mitchell 300(stripped and polished) fishing reel. With the standard plastic twist handle. I can not see the serial number. Stainless steel screws on the cover plate. It has been paint stripped and polished(not easy as normal paint stripper does not touch the paint used on later Mitchell reels) its not a perfect mirror polish as it is cast aluminum and can only be polished to a point. It looks great and could be used without fear of damaging any paintwork, it has been serviced and works well. The reel has a shallow spool fitted. The bailarm and anti reverse works as it should. The bail arm chrome is fair with marks and wear. A nice vintage 300 reel to use. Collect, re-spray, or maybe displayed in a fishing club or tackle shop as a novelty vintage"Garcia Mitchell 300" reel.

Mitchell 3rd version reel A nice example of this classic reel. M ade by Mitchell in France 1950- 52. Serial number B81958. Used but still in really good working order. Just add line if you want to use it. It winds smoothly with a lovely gentle pur from the crosswind gears. The bail returns nicely when you wind the handle and the optional anti reverse locks as it should. Much of t he black paint finish remains but there are rubbed areas showing red primer in places. Vintage - Garcia Mitchell 300 (Stripped & Polished) Fishing Reel
A Garcia Mitchell 300(stripped and polished) fishing reel. With a standard plastic twist handle. I can only see a 5 on the foot. Stainless steel screws on the cover plate. It has been paint stripped and polished(not easy as normal paint stripper does not touch the paint used on later Mitchell reels) its not a perfect mirror polish as it is cast aluminum and can only be polished to a point. It looks great and could be used without fear of damaging any paintwork, it has been serviced and works well. The reel has a shallow spool fitted. The bailarm and anti reverse works as it should. The bail arm chrome is fair with some marks and wear. A nice vintage 300 reel to use. Collect, re-spray, or maybe displayed in a fishing club or tackle shop as a novelty vintage"Garcia Mitchell 300" reel.

Vintage Mitchell 300 PRO spinning reel NIB, complete, never out of box till now!
86 Mitchell 300 PRO Up for auction. An unused, un-messed with, un-displayed, NIB 300 PRO. I bought this reel 27 years ago, when fishing and working was all that mattered. When I got it home, I slid off the sleeve, opened the box, and relalized that the way I fish, and the looks this reels had, would not turn out well, for the reel. These Pro's are works of art, and when I found out that they made about 15,000 of them total, as apposed to 1.5 million 300's give or take,I got cold feet. Like my first new car, I didn't want to be the first to scratch it. So long story short, I kept fishing with my 300's, 308's, and down the road, 810's, and 908's, but I still wouldn't mark up the Pro's. The thought of getting fish bait, or goo on it, just didn't make sense. I believe that was the beginning of my reel collecting! ... moreTime to down size in my life, and letting go of the personal ones, will get the flood gates going, sorta speak. I have quite a few in this condition, different models, and years. This is a ALL original, in the priginal box, with the original goodies package, good luck down the road, with the profit wolves, finding another one. I would like to take a minute to point out. That Mitchells are a long and special group of reels, and as collectors,we new that. But there is a growing number of repainters, liars, and parts reel guys, that will tell you anything, to get your money, in the mean time, ruin this brand of reel. With Mitchells, it's easy, because not enough people research,and learn to spot a fake, or mis-leading discription.
