Here's a very nice Garcia MITCHELL 300 Spinning reel. In good condition. A few minor scuffs and it could use a more thorough cleaning but it's complete and works good. Nice smooth running reel. My husband says there should be a gear or lock that stops the movement of the handle, isn't working as it should so the handle turns both ways. I'm not sure of the correct terminology and I don't know that it affects the working of the reel. This is a good display reel and is ready to go catch a fish, it does have line on it that appears to be a light green. Vintage 1966 Mitchell 300 Garcia Spinning Reel w/ 2nd Spool, Case & Paperwork
I'm not a collector of fishing gear but I grew up on the shores of Lake Michigan in Kenosha Wisc. and have been fishin since I was knee-high to a grasshopper. So. I know a good reel when I handle one. According to my research on this guy, serial number 7078503 this is a 1966 Version 6 Garcia Mitchell 300. As you can see it's been used and has some loss of paint in areas. The gears are smooth and the drag works perfect. I'm sure after sitting for as many years as it has, it could use a good internal cleaning and lube. Everything you see comes in the sale.
