There is also 2 Vintage Zebco 600 reels, a Langley De-Liar, metal stringer,+ more. Tackle box looks vintage, but with a"fresher" coat of paint. Inside appears all original. Top two trays are cork lined,bottom belly is scuffed up inside, but not horrible at all. Paint job is actually pretty nice. Box is solid, opens and closes nicely, and latches properly. Has its rod bag and tube also in good condition. Here's a very nice Heddon Bamboo Fly Rod. Its a 2 1/2 F which makes it a medium trout-bass-light steelhead rod. I prefer this action when I going to cast the larger streamers or terrestrials, but then it will still cast the smaller flies and make great presentations. I have not fished this rod but have lawn cast it, it casts a DT6 or 7 really well and lays it very nicely. I was really impressed, rod is very smooth, predictable and forgiving. VERY RARE ABBEY & IMBRIE?/HEDDON MUSKALLONGE MINNOW NO. 700 Antique Fishing Lure
Circa 1912-1915( VERY RARE ABBEY& IMBRIE?HEDDON MUSKALLONGE MINNOW-almost 4 7/8" long(wood body) HEDDON slightly modified their minnow profiles and shapes( colors) at times when they were contracted by the various"upscale tackle houses" such as Von Lengerke& Antoinne of Chicago. Edward K. Tryon of Philadelphia and others. Many collectors call these"trade minnows" This true antique 100 year old(or so) Musky Minnow has a curious non-typical shape and profile and appears to have a"shorter/squat-like" body when compared to your typical Heddon No. 700. The front propeller is thin and reads"Abbey Imbrie" The lure most likely sported a rear propeller originally as well. The color is Green Crackleback with rather"large spacings between cracks" The very seldom seen and HUGE 2& 3/4" ... morehooks I believe were special order for they are extra long and coated for saltwater use-Abbey& Imbrie was located in New York City and supplied saltwater anglers as well as musky fishermen of the day. A similar equipped Heddon Zaragossa with extra long plated hooks with the box may be viewed in"THE HEDDON LEGACY" book by Bill Roberts& Rob Pavey on page 126. This bait's tip of the tail shows"oxidation" from the reaction of salt and rust with metal(from the missing tail prop? It also looks as though some angler may have tried to add a fourth treble to the belly but quickly gave up when he encountered the belly weights. L.H. Abbey and C.F. Imbrie merged with the Andrew Clerk Company in 1875.it has been reported that Mr. Andrew Clerk had sold fishing tackle since 1820! And helped introduce some of the very earliest"bass plugs" to America.including the ca. 1873 Archimedean Minnow made of hard rubber.
