Up for auction is a Hardy Uniqua. The reel is 3 3/4 inches in diameter. And has a rim tension control and telephone latch. Mark II check, and stamped with the initials JRJ on the inside. Designed for right hand wind, but is currently set up as a left hand wind reel(it can be switch by simply reversing the pawl) The only real fault is the seat, which has been filed on both ends. Vintage Hardy Duplicated Mark II "Perfect" Fly Reel, handle needs work
Up for your consideration is a vintage Hardy Duplicated Mark II Fly Reel as shown. The plastic handle on this is old and significantly worn as shown in photo 5. The reel makes a nice clicking noise when its turned but the handle seems to tighten up and lock up when you turn it. If you reverse direction. The handle feels like its loosening up. Description A Vintage Hardy Brothers Ltd Aluminium Fly Box with an assortment of Flies. All in a Brown Leather Hardy Case The Flies themselves are in fairly good condition. There is slight surface corrosion to some of the Hooks but no major damage. There are approximately 42 Flies in the Box. I don't know if they are actual Hardy Flies or not, but it is logical to assume that at least some are. The Aluminum Box is a little dished and has signs of use and age. But it is all intact and structurally sound including the Hinge, it stays closed as required, and it bears the Hardy Name-plate and the Bee Stamp. The Leather Case has minor surface wear. And the Strap is broken at one end so it is slightly too short to fasten, but the seams are all strong and intact apart from one Loop as shown, and it is clean with no rips. This was a limited edition reel. I believe it was produced in 1999, but I'm not positive. I purchased it new a year ago and fished with it maybe 8-9 days. The reel is left hand wind. B lack finish. Nickel silver line check/ drag adjustment/ release lever screws. Brass rivets, aluminum vintage ribbed style reel foo t. The ONLY noticeable wear is minor scuffs on the reel foot where it mee ts the rod and a super tiny pin-point kn i ck in the finish that is circled in the last picture. There is no dent o r ding. Just a tiny dot in the' paint' Any other appearance of wear is dust. Or photo reflection. Truly like new. Save for the wear I have noted. The reel has no case.
