The Cloth Case is missing the flap with the Makers Name. Don't know what happened to that? I guess that is an issues, other than that there's No issues to mention! This Rod is in Superb Condition! I don't know if its been refinished or not, it Sure Looks Pretty! I believe this is the"Palakona" model, it's hard to make out the writing on the rod. Photo's 3-6 show the writing. This book is in 2nd quality(see condition description above) unread new condition. It has excerpts from many catalog years. Details about the Ferrule size designations, all the rod models, the various Heddon construction periods, the measurements of the ferrules so you can determine which ferrule size you have. It also has a ton of information about the Heddon Trade Rods. Those are rods made by Heddon for other companies such as Shakespeare, Lyon& Coulson, Edward K. Tryon, Marvin Hedge, Folsom Arms to name just a few. I've found several trade rods at bargain prices because the sellers didn't know their rod was a Heddon rod. Some trade ... morerods are extremely scarce such as a 7.5' 3/2 Shakespeare rod that I bought that was made by Heddon. I've only seen one other example in the 15 years I've been collecting bamboo rods. This book will quickly pay for itself if you are a Heddon collector. Vintage T.K.W. Bamboo Fly Rod & Heddon 320 Reel w/Line 5 pcs. Low Reserve!
Gently Pre-Owned. This Rod and Reel Combo was given to my fiance by a local"old timer" while he was working on a job at this guys house. They are both vintage. The bamboo rod is marked"T.K.W. and although I did research this, I didn't find anything about it. I would think given that, it would make this a rather rare and unique rod. The reel however, is a Heddon 320. It is a Daisy Model with the parts having been made in JAPAN and assembled in the USA, and does come with line on it, and it is in working condition. This rod/reel combo comes as shown, there is no carrying case/bag for it. There are, however, what I would suppose are extra rod(top) pieces, as there are 5 pieces to this all together. It's really a beautiful rod, and is in overall very good vintage/antique condition, the only real noticeable is shown in the ... morephotos. Edwards Bristol FB-7 bamboo fly rod - Very Nice!
This Bristol- Edwards rod is an excellent casting rod in very very nice condition. It has a great balance when fishing it- feels light in the hand. Very forgiving easy to cast long or short distances with a 7wt line. One of the finest 9' rods I've handled. Nickel silver ferrules are a perfect fit- no clicking what so ever. Varnish is great. Wraps and guides very nice. Reel seat and cork is excellent. Cane is excellent and straight. Bag and tube are original and excellent. It's been truly a joy to own and fish this rod and I'm sure the next owner will feel the same.

I don't know any more about it than what I learned through research. He was a rod builder and has done restoration in the past. I do not know if this rod has any restoration work. NEW BAMBOO FLY ROD 8' 2/1 7-8wt
Hello this is a 8' rod that I made to fish for larger trout using a 8015 taper. I was looking for a rod that would fish a 7wt line and people said that this taper worked good. But I found that it was more of a 8wt. So I'm going to sell it and try again with another taper. This rod has a Struble DL reel seat, a full wells grip, CSE nickle silver ferrule, a carbide stripper guide, and(9)bronze snake brand snake guides. Its wraped with a green/black jasper thread tiped with a bright lime green with wraps at 14"18"22" for taking pictures of fish. This is a newly rebuilt smallstream split bamboo fly rod in three pieces with extra tip seven foot two inches long in four weight.The rod is built with blanks from a Southbend 323 shortened at the male ferrule ends and uses all premium components.The reelseat is nickle silver cap and ring type the cork grip is in the western style and"A" grade. We used all black line guides and tip tops the stripper is stainless and the hookeeper is silver ring type. The cane is finished with three coats of spar varnish and is wrapped in black and white classic twist. We lawn cast the rod and suggest four weight line the action is medium.

This is an old bamboo bait or fly fishing setup. The first bamboo piece has"No. 6688" written in yellowish/gold. The handle takes the fly setup or flip it over for bait. The cork is old but in generally good condition. You can see where tape was previously wrapped around the cork. The fly tip is broken and missing. Vintage P&K Modernist split bamboo tonkin cane fly fishing rod 8 1/2 feet long
I have for sale a hard to find and great size vintage 8&1/2 food split bamboo fly rod with tube and sock. Ready for fishing or collecting. Label is P&K otherwise known as Pachner and Koller out of Chicago. Rod looks like it was made by Horrocks and Ibbotson(H&I) There are two re-wraps on the mid section but all sections are equal length. Beautiful agate or agatine stripper guide on the butt section. each section measures 35 inches long and when fitted together the rod is 102 inches or 8 feet. 6 inches long. Nice length for a 3 piece rod. Rod probably dates to late 1940's early 1950's. Check out the pictures!

Very nice Bill Barnes Tackle Spinning- Fly Rod Model# 955. Labelled' Genuine Tonkin Cane' All three sections are straight. Equal in length and measure approximately 39 3/4 inches. The ferrules fit very well- nice and snug without undue force- and they pop lightly when pulled apart. The finish is original and looks to be in nice condition, as do the guides and wraps. The handle cork looks nearly new. There is a small, dark blemish on the reel seat below the threads. This is a unique, hard-to-find, high quality bamboo rod. Ships via FedEx. You are bidding on a wonderful RARE VINTAGE ORVIS 8 1.2' BAMBOO FLY ROD. I won this beautiful rod in a card game many years ago from an old gentleman. He had restored the rod and took off the original varnish that has the name of the rod and other info. It is an ORVIS BATTENKILL-which in looking at other Orvis rods makes perfect sense. The guides and windings are all excellent. The rod has nickel silver ferrules and the sections are nice and tight and make a good"pop" when taken apart. The 4 sections are all full length and perfectly straight. The cork is now varnished. The rod tips are excellent. I don't have a tube for this rod. NO RESERVE Auction Vintage Wright McGill Granger Victory 9 foot 3 piece. One tip ready to fish. This beautiful rod is ready to fish and priced so that you don't feel guilty fishing it. Many rods are collectibles and are never fished, just displayed or tucked away because they are too expensive or impossible to replace if broken. If you have always wanted to fish one of these collectible rods without the hefty price tag this is it. This rod appears to have been refinished by a professional. All the wraps are tight. Varnish is beautiful, ferules pop when removed. No clicking in the ferules when making casting motion. I was told this was refinished in an Aristocrat wrap rather than the traditional Victory wraps. Who knows why but a beautiful specimen. Check out the pictures where the flash worked with me and you will see how this rod will ... morelight up in the sunlight. This is a used rod, however, I can't find anything wrong with it. I would not call it mint but it is excellent in my opinion. Please ask questions if you have them. This rod comes with the vintage sock and(non original) aluminum tube. Not sure if the sock is original. If it is there is only room for the one tip. Normal 0 MicrosoftInternetExplorer4 Welcome To My Auction The item up for bid is one(1) vintage Goodwin Granger'Granger Premier' 8 1/2' model# GP 8642 split bamboo fly rod. A rather scarce Granger rod as the premier grade made up only 2.2% of the the rods produced by Granger. This rod is in very good condition all 4 pieces measure 34 1/2" in length all 4 pieces lay out straight. The handle other than some soiling and some what I would guess are hook marks on the reel end is in great condition. The reel seat adjustment works as it should there are some dings to the seat as pictured. All windings are tight and line guides are all in excellent condition. The rod is missing one line guide which is the first in line in the mid section but oddly enough the winding remains undamaged as pictured. There is some residue on one of the ... moretip sections between the last line guide and the terminal end. I've looked at this section under heavy magnification and failed to see a crack or split in the cane but the residue is opaque and hence I could not see under it and I have made no attempt to remove it. I have included three close ups of this area so you may make your own appraisal. The rod sack included is in excellent undamaged condition.This rod truly represents a wonderful slice of American fishing history. It comes with a non original wooden box that is missing the top. The rod can be assembled into a three piece 8’ fly rod or a two piece 5.6’ casting rod. There are decals and inscription on the two bottom sections. All sections measure 33” bottom sections when attached to handle) I would estimate it would align with a four or five weight fly line. The six inch cork handle and up lock screw reel seat are in great condition. There are two snake eye guides on the mid and fly tip sections. Three guides on the casting tip. The rod comes with two matching bottom sections that each have a stripper guide and hook keeper. There are hairlines cracks on the mid, casting ... moresections and bottom sections males ferrules. This is a newly rebuilt Smallstream split bamboo fly rod in three piece with single tip seven and a half foot long in four weight. The rod is built from a Southbend eight and a half footer which was shortened at the male ferrules. We used all premium components including a nickle silver cap and ring reelseat on a maple wood insert and a western style cork grip in"A" grade. The line guides tip top and stripper are chrome the hookeeper is silver ring type.The cane is finished with the coats of spar varnish and is wrapped in white and black classic twist. Art Weiler Heritage Model Split Bamboo Fly Rod
This is a beautiful split bamboo fly rod had made by Art Weiler of Kunkletown. PA, and purchased by my generous colleagues as a retirement present five or six years ago. Alas, passions change over time, and I find myself wanting to direct the proceeds to my new love, and arch top acoustic guitar. This rod, a work of art without question is identified by Art Weiler as a Heritage Model(model#212X) and is a three piece rod with an extra tip, of eight feet in length, and designed for six weight line. It has a Garrison cork handle, a"cork SB"seat, with pongee and brown wraps. I have never taken it out other than to show friends, so it's atually unused in a real sense. It weighs only 5 oz. This is a VERY NICE WEBER(STEVENS POINT. WIS. 4 PC BAMBOO FLY ROD that is in GREAT MECHANICAL CONDITION with a GREAT APPEARANCE as well. The only thing bad about the appearance is that the cork handle is a little stained as you can see. It has a nice working reel seat with 11 nice line guides and wraps and decent connecting ferrules. It is super straight when assembled: probably the straightest bamboo fly rod I have had the pleasure of owning. All four pieces are equal in length and when assembled the rod measures 9 feet long. Beautiful Vintage South Bend Bamboo Fly Rod 2pc 7’ w/ Sock and Tube This amazing rod has stood up against the test of time beautifully. The rod is stamped: South Bend A Name Famous in Fishing No. 469… 7’ Use Excel-Oreno Line HCH or D The bamboo is in great shape with no visible cracks or splintering. There arecreases and slight flaking in the varnish and it is easier to feel than see but I attempted to photograph it any how(see photos) All of the wrapping is in good shape and all of the guides and tip loop are matching. The pieces fit together. The cork is used and has signs of wear with one small chunk missing on the bottom. The reel seat has some paint missing. But the aluminum feet are in great condition, there might be a small screw missing from the seat, but I am not sure if one ever existed there(see photo) The seat is firmly secure ... morewithout it. The adjustment screw at the bottom is functioning. The rod comes with its rod sock and aluminum tube. The tube is missing its cap. South Bend Bamboo Fly Rod 7 1/2 foot Number 290 original tube bag Excellent cond
South Bend 290 Bamboo Fly Rod 7 and 1/2 feet. Two piece. Two tips, original condition, original guides and ferrules excellent condition over all. No sets, splits, both tips the same length. Take it our of the original tube and start casting. The original cloth bag is pristine. The 290 is by far the best taper produced by the South Bend Company. This rod was built post WWII, about 1948. This rod will use a WF5, DT5 or a silk line of 5 weight. The rod actually looks new, but does have a slight blem.The South Bend Decal is chipped. If you can live with that you are on your way to fishing one of the finest small stream bamboo rods made. You would look long and hard to find a rod like this in this condition. Montague Sunbeam 8½' Genuine Tonkin Split Bamboo 3/1 Fly Fishing Rod + Sock Tube
Montague Sunbeam 8½' Genuine Tonkin Split Bamboo 3/1 Fly Fishing Rod with Sock and Tube The combined weight of the three sections of this rod is 6.4 oz's and each section is the same length: 34-11/16" When the three sections are fitted together the rod measures 8½' The first eye is undamaged garnet/agate and the rest are steel. The first eye on the middle section is missing. The rest of the eyes, ferrules and wrappings are tight. All three sections have some slight set, but it is barely noticeable. We can see no cracks or damage to the bamboo or it's glued seams and the rods finish is glossy and intact, but might need a light cleaning. The nickel plating on the butt end cap is worn off in a couple of spots. The reel seat lock nut turns freely and the cork handle has wear and patina, but is intact with no missing ... morechunks. When found the rod had some light corrosion/dirt on the ferrules and would not fit together completely. We lubricated/cleaned the ferrules with wax and a Q-tip and they now fit together easily- perhaps too easily and the winning bidder may need to clean off the excess wax. We don't normally alter vintage/antique items. But we needed to do this to measure the true total length of the rod. The bag and tube are unmarked and may not be original. The bag has stains and rips on both ends The tube is cardboard with metal end caps. The threaded male insert on the open end of the tube spins on the tube after the cap is screwed down tight. This old bamboo fishing rod belonged to my great grandfather. It is very old. It is missing its base and I have only the 2 pieces. They fit together nicely and are tight. It has a natural shape to it. Like the bamboo itself. I can see NO markings or name anywhere. Each piece is 50" long and is over 8 feet when connected(99" total) It must have been very long with it's base even if it was just a handle. There are no eyelets except for the one on the end. There is still some old line with a float and leads attached. The bamboo is strong and flexible with no breaks. The finish has a dark orangish color to it. It is a very cool rod. This listing is for: an antique fishing rod by Shakespe are with a carrying tube. It's a"deluxe" model no. 1315 split bamboo fly rod. One of Shakespeare's high er grade models. The No. 1315"Delu xe" has been attributed by many to E.W. Edwards Rod Co. Who supplied the Shakesp ear e Co. with se veral high- quality models for a number of years. Rodshaft still carries a partial"Shakespeare- Honor Built- Honor Sold" decal. While the sliding band is stamped"1315- B- 9 Shakespeare MADE IN U.S.A. PAT'D" The patent was granted to Wm. Shakespeare Jr. in 1924 for the reel seat design. The seat itself is correctly stamped"Made In U.S.A. I'm guessing this might be a 5 or 6 wt. As these models pre-date any rated line weight designations. Rod is in about Fine condition for these early models, ... moreshowing lots of overall wear. Bamboo is in nice condition. All four sections are the correct equal length, with one tip having a light set. Here is a Vintage Sout h Bend Bamboo Fly Rod. This is Model#3 59 and is a 3 piece 3 tip for total leng th of 8.5 feet. The rod is in sound condition but needs to be refinished. The stripper guide is missing on the butt section and 1 is missing on the full length tip, some of the othe rs need to be rewr ap ped. The f errule on the butt section needs to be reseated. The reelseat needs to be secured as its loose. One tip is full length but the other 2 are short by 6.5 and 5 i nches. Most sections are pretty straight but the 2 short tips have fishing experience. This will need to be refinished. There are noticable varnish issues, a few guide wraps are coming undone. The reel seat is marked(Dirigo FE Thomas- Bangor, Me) The cork grip is in good shape, small areas of wear. VINTAGE RARE CREEK/STREAM ONE WEIGHT SPLIT BAMBOO FLY FISHING ROD This auction is for an awesome refinished creek/small stream two piece 6’ 2” split bamboo fly rod. There are no manufacturer identifications. The bottom section measures 40” and the tip section is 34” I lawn casted it with an Orvis CFO loaded with one weight forward fly line and it cast like a dream. The 8 ¾: cork handle and cork reel seat have some wear. I repaired a chip near the bottom with wood filler. It is fully functional and mounts a fly reel nicely(see picture) There are four snake eye guides on the tip section and a stripper guide on the bottom section. The rod fits together perfectly when assembled and is straight. I meticulously stripped the old varnish. Refinished with four coats of spar varnish and completed it with high quality wood rubbing compounds. The ... moreferrules have been buffed and polished. The light brownstone colored bamboo cane and varnish finish are classic. This magic wand would be perfect for feeder creek brook trout fishing in tight brushy conditions. COLLECTORS! Up for bids is a VERY RARE HEDDON'EXPERT' BAMBOO FLY ROD. It is a 9' 3-piece with two tips. All sections proper length- 36 1/2" What is so awesome is the rare original cardboard shipping tube with the buyer's address label with Heddon's return address- intact and very nice! Also with original aluminum tube and sock as well. This is truly a complete collectable package! The rod is in near mint condition- all sections perfectly straight. Most likely re-varnished at some point but apparently unused since! All original Heddon gold guides. Wraps and ferrules- in perfect shape. View pics that illustrate how awesome this rod and accessories are! Only flaw I see is the sock's bottom edge had a little mending to it- but still in excellent shape- no holes and stitching/seams super.
