Vintage Ambassadeur ABU 7000C3 Reel NR
You are bidding on a very nice example of a vintage ABU 7000C3 reel that bears a serial number of 0301 10 37. These reels are made for heavy fresh water to light saltwater fishing. This reel will hold 325 yards of 17 pound test and is in excellent mechanical condition. Cranks very smoothly, and has a good strong star drag and click. Cosmetically, I would rate this reel a 9, as it does show some signs of use, but no abuse. This is a no reserve auction. Buyer pays $8.00 shipping anywhere in the US.

Vintage ABU Ambassadeur 5000 for parts or repair (Sweden) -- 027200
This is a used Vintage Red ABU Ambassadeur 5000 fishing reel for parts or possible repair. This was a barn find at my grandfather's this past summer. It was on an old rod. I tied a medium sized washer to the end of the line to test it. It would cast. But not cleanly and smoothly. When I reeled it in. The mechanism that slides back and forth would catch on the one side. As seen in the pictures. It is scratched a bit. Form the looks of it, the'handle' is bent too. The number stamped on the chrome piece that attached to the rod is 027200. I'm a casual fisherman. I have no idea if these reel is salvageable or if it's truly a parts reel.

Ambassadeur 5000B 4 screw red fishing reel in near mint condition. This reel is in perfect working order with only a couple of small paint loss spots on the star wheel. The reel appears to have never been used. Comes with a brown leather case. The inside of the cases felt is coming loose and has the name"Ben" wrote in it. Also comes with extra parts. Oil, wrench and paper work. The outer box is in fair condition and has some tape on it and the packing for the inside of the box is missing. Foot plate number 549469. This is a nice vintage black and chrome ABU Ambassadeur 5000C fishing reel with the original brown leather case included. There is a vial to hold oil as well however the oil has since been used so the on the vial is empty. There is light surface wear to the reel(some light scuffing. Minor paint rubbing and the grip shows light wear) The chrome is in excellent condition/ no pitting- no rust. The reel moves freely. I believe it is right handed. The number engraved on the reel is 241003. The case is in good condition aside from the slight vintage/musty scent. There is no cracking in the leather and the clasp works great. The reel is in very nice condition with only a few minor marks keeping it from being mint(note scratches and pitting on spool tension cap) Operates like new- very smooth. Rare leather case has some separation of the leather at the front corners(see photo) but is otherwise also in very good condition. Accessories include oil dropper. Screwdriver/wrench combo tool and spare parts tube with assorted replacement screws, e-clips, handle nut, etc. Double-sided gold foil tag is missing original string which was ripped off. Early ABU Ambassadeur 6000 Reel Made Soon After Record Ambassadeur 6000
It's hard to trace the early history of the Ambassadeur 6000 because most of the production records have been lost. Like the 5000. It started as a Record Ambassadeur and in 1957-1958 the Record engraving on the buttplate was changed to ABU. Many Ambassadeur reels have become highly collectible because as the folks in Svangsta transitioned to a new model they continued to use parts from the previous model. Such is the case for the reel in this auction. This reel has the same counterbalanced handle. The same large capacity grey spool, the same 4 screw production, 3 external oil ports and no serial number as did the Record Ambassadeur. This reel operates very smoothly. It has a small amount of paint loss on the upper rims and very minor surface scratching. It's impossible to establish the age of the reel, but I would estimate it was ... moremade in the late 50's to early 60's. The pictures tell the story. The reel is used and does have some rash on the outside of the side plates at the top and bottom. It also has the last name of Coleman. The last owner, I presume, etched on the bottom of the foot. Fishing Up for consideration is a vintage ABU Garcia 522 baitcasting reel. The foot of this reel is marked 85-1 86-87. Mechanically. The reel functions flawlessly. Cosmetically, the reel has a little wer on the top of the right side cover and the left inner frame. The left side cover has some minor oxidation. On the bright side, the reel does present fairly welll with bright vivid graphics and it's red spool. This is a solid reel that is very suitable for fishing or adding to a vintage tackle collection. This a custom ported and anodized Abu Garcia wiffle spool. It will fit all 5000 sized reels that use ultra-cast(separate spool and axle) I take a OEM Abu Garcia wiffle spool and added extra porting to reduce the weight 15% over stock then have them re-anodized satin black. They look good and perform even better! For those that don't know. Reducing the rotating mass(the weight of the spool and fishing line together) increases casting performance. This is especially important for light presentations but also helps in all casting situations. I install these spools in ALL the Ambassadeurs that I personally fish. Thanks for looking. This is an original power handle in 90mm. It is chrome finished with black kobs. Due to the poor lighting it shows darker but it is a chrome finish item.
