The reel is a used piece with some scratches to the side plates and some boat rash on the rims. As for function it seems to work well. I’m not sure how the syncro drag system is supposed to work so I don’t know how to test its function. It may not be functional but as stated above I just don't know how to figure that out it is just something written on the reel that a learned fisherman would understand. The rest of the reel is in good shape with smooth feeling gears. A star drag that does tighten down in the traditional way, a even traveling level wind and a great clicker system. Up for bid is this SUPER NICE ABU GARCIA 5001 CA Avis AMBASSADEUR LEVEL WIND FISHING REEL IN BOX AND WITH ALL THE PAPER WORK AS SHOWN from an estate. The paper showing the picture of a family is actually the people in Svangsta. Sweden who are responsible for the quality control of Ambassadeur Reels. It has line on it, but I don’t think it has been used, at least there are no signs of such. It is in fantastic condition. It will hold 205 yards of 12 lb. line, 180 yards 0f 14 lb. line and 130 yards of 17 lb. line. The number on the bottom of the reel foot is 060007.
