ICOM IC-M127 Marine VHF Radio, Rebuilt Screen, Mic. Excellent Receive & Transmit
A few years ago. I retired as a commercial boat captain, and now do some broadcast engineering etc. I have always love the reliability of the ICOM radios, well built and reliable when you need communications, I used quite a few in my career. Last year, I purchased a number of the ICOM IC-M127's, top of the line radios. Each was affected by the sun whereas the LCD screen get's burned in the center. I removed the screen and purchased special polarizing film specifically designed for LCD displays. You'll note that the numbers shown up really well now. The display with show the mode, transmit, signal strength and a few other letters. It is a bit darker than original, but it is a major improvement compared to what it looked like earlier. I was not able to find the original mic anywhere, but was did come up with one by Icom that works ... morefor basic functions only, that is to transmit. This radio is really clean, NO corrosion, and a real nice front panel. It receives and transmits well, with solid modulation, 27 watts output, and excellent receive sensitivity.
