It can stand upright on its base. Just on one side of a loop at the join(first picture) there is a crack.This would have occured during firing. There is some typical straw marks and a few surface scratches. I do not have any chains or rope to hang the basket up with but I am sure that would not be a problem to find. MIDWINTER Staffordshire pottery covered butter or cheese dish designed by Jessie Tait in the elusive but gorgeous"MING TREE" pattern with pink and yellow flowers an d brown tree on a cream ground. Handpainted from a genuine hand engraving and finished in a high gloss glaze. The finial on the lid of the butter has a single bright green leaf on top, while the sides of the dome have flower enlargements front and back, one yellow and one pink. The underplate shows the full design in stunning color and detail. Amazingly, the piece seems to have been UNUSED since there are no oil stains at all, a common issue with these old keeps. This one is still pristine with fine clear crazing attesting to age and NO chips. Offered here is a fine unused 19th century rice paper tea label. This was produced for Tait& Co. Which operated in Taiwan from 1845 until about 1911. The center of the label is a beautiful rendition of a pineapple in soft orange& green colors, surrounded by a red and purble legend: Pine Apple Chop No. Extra Choicest Formosa Oolong Tait& Co. This piece measures approximately 12 3/4" by 14" not exact all around due to the slightly unevenly cut edges. It has been in storage for some forty years. And has some minor rumpling and fold lines, but no damage or tears. Colors are lovely and strong and overall a remarkable piece of art in very fine condition. Offered here is a wonderful unused 19th century rice paper tea label. This was produced for Tait& Co. Which operated in Taiwan from 1845 until about 1911. The label is bordered with an array of colorful handpainted florals. The center is emblazoned with a black and white yin yang and the words"Talisman Chop Choicest New Seasons Formosa Oolong No. 154 Kiam Oye Tait& Co. This piece measures approximately 10 1/4" by 11 1/2" not exact all around due to the slightly unevenly cut edges; and the rice paper is tissue thin. This has been in storage for some forty years or more. And has some minor rumpling and fold lines, but no damage or tears. Colors are lovely and strong and overall a remarkable piece of art in very fine condition. Trophy( painted gold and mounted on turned wood base. inscribed with the artist’s name and date in the cast. Provenance: Private Collection. Toronto. The Ideal Scout” was one of the artist’s most popular and signature pieces. Tait McKenzie was a friend and associate of Lord Baden Powel and an early supporter of the Scout movement. The artist originally had a number of examples cast in bronze[18 x 7 ½ x 7 ½ inches] to present to Baden Powel and certain members of the movement. In 1917 he formally ceded the original moulds and copyright to the International Scouts movement. The Scouts contracted a professional sculpture ... morestudio in Philadelphia to produce plaster-casts of the statue. The Scouts thereafter sold reproductions of the sculpture to raise money. The plaster-cast versions were finished in a copper. Bronze, or cream finish. In the early years Tait McKenzie or someone connected to the artist would regularly examine the moulds to see that the quality of reproduction was being maintained. But due to the poor durability of the plasters(the works broke and could not be easily shipped) they were eventually discontinued. Smaller versions were later produced in white metal. Also in 1937, life-sized versions were produced and installed at various scouting locales. These later versions were not produced with the artist’s involvement. Tait McKenzie’s sculpture continues to be a popular and iconic image of the Boy Scout. This is the last of the Tait repeaters that I have. It is a UHF HAM band repeater as shown. But could be converted back to the commercial band by reprogramming a EPROM and retuning the radio. We have already programmed the EPROM with all of the normal range of repeaters. Changing the frequency requires that the dip switch in the transmitter and the receiver be set. The Transmitter PA is a 50 watt unit, but we typically run these at less than max. Included with the repeater will be a CD that has schematics. And manuals on the radios, if you need programming info that is available from TAIT and other online sources. The programming is done by burning the data into a EPROM. Vintage R. Tait McKenzie Boy Scout Statue,BSA,Brass/Bronze Tone Finish
For auction is a cast metal Boy Scout statue with an R.Tait McKenzie trademark. The statue is 8 1/2" tall and made of a cast metal.But I am not sure of the alloy.The metal is not magnetic but it is heavy(about 1 1/2 pounds) and has a brass or bronze tone finish. The finish has a good deal of wear,as seen in photos,but there are no dents,gouges,etc.

This is a history and picture book of clocks in the British Museum. It is hardcover with a dust jacket. The dust jacket is somewhat worn around the edges. The hard cover is in like new condition. The binding is tight. There is a name printed on the inside cover page. Otherwise the pages are free from marks and smudges. It is illustrated with black and white drawings and photographs and one color photograph. It measures 10" x 6" and has 113 pages. Sold as is and as found.
