Good condition Motorola N1275A amplifier. This amplifier was designed as a power booster for the Motorola Convert-a-com docking station for Motorola handheld radios but may be used as a standalone amplifier. This UHF amplifier is available covering several different frequency bands extending down to about 400 MHz and up. This model is tuned for 450 to 470 MHz band. I tested this amplifier and measured approximately 32 watts output with input power of 3 watts(10 dB gain) from 440 to 450 MHz ham band. This amplifier is built solid. I have never put power on it. I moved to a place where HF operation is not practical. I had high hopes for this beast. This usually mated with a Micom HF SSB base station in a similar cabinet which was programmed for ten or 12 preset frequencies between 2 and 18 mhz. The amplifier has a matching number of preset PA output tuning settings. Meaning band changing is fast, and no re-tune. I do not have a manual on it. So some wire tracing is needed. This is a super heavy duty amplifier made with a giant solid aluminum chasss and massive heat sinks. It is designed to rack mount in a standard 19 inch rack. I have no info on its functionality or original use. It is stamped with 150 Mhz. This would make a great chassis for a new modern super high power pallet. The heat dissapators are bolted to the solid aluminum heat sink that is bolted to the sealed RF compartment. The RF compartment has a flat center section with covers on both sides It looks like there is a tunable filter on both the input and output sections The RF power transistors are burried where I cant see them. They usually put out 40 to 45 watts max depending on the input rf power(typically a 1-10 ratio) This amp would be great for using your handheld as a mobile radio. Just add the power cord. Make up a rf cable from your handheld to the input of the amp, and connect the your external antenna to the amplifier output. Another way to use the amplifier is to put it inline with your mobile amateur or commercial VHF radio and run the radio on low power. This saves the wear and tear on your mobile and lets the mobile amplifier do all the work. Finally. These amplifiers have been used for years as a component in VHF repeaters. VHF Motorola Quantar Repeater or Base Radio. P25 The Motorola Quantar is an amazing machine! This one was pulled from commercial service in good working condition. And was used as a digital radio in ASTRO CAI mode. I am not a digital expert, but I understand this to be the P25 equivalent in the Quantar world. I have used these machines for many years in the analog realm, and in my experience, there is no better machine for either base or repeater operations! Very reliable and consistent performance. Newer(newest? version controller. Currently programmed and tuned at mid-band as a repeater in dual mode(analog and digital) narrow band operation, the radio breaks squelch in analog operation at-121 dBm@ 12 dB SINAD and though verified to operate at a full 125 Watts, this machine was never operated above 60 Watts while in service. I have left ... moreit at that for most testing purposes, as my HP8920B sounds an overpower alarm above 60 Watts. I am unable to test the digital modes, as I have no radios or test equipment for that purpose, but I have no reason to believe it is not fully functional there. This machine even has a networking connection so you can log in remotely so you can read and update settings! Amazing! Though I have used this function in the past on similar machines, I did not test network operation, though I have no reason to doubt it is working. Though the firmware reports battery charger option. It is not installed. The power supply does not have the connections for it. All my tests were performed at 120 VAC with the power supply to be included. I do have 48 VDC power supplies available if you prefer that option. The radio is programmed and calibrated for frequency. Power, RSSI and deviation at approximately 160 MHz, and I have bench tested it from 145 MHz to 174 MHz. It started out as a Motorola HS-673B- I tweaked the circuit to lean more towards a Fender Deluxe-but with bigger/ better transformers( Has a beautiful 6v6 clean and a wonderful growl(to a roar) as you go up- It sounded so nice when I was done that I knew it needed a new boutique style custom cab- all red oak exterior and oak ply& birch bottom& panel. There are some flaws here and there but overall very nice- Uses(2) Sylvania 12AX7's. 1) DuMont 5Y3, and(2) 50's RCA smoke glass 6V6's. All test/sound strong& loud- Set up for 8 ohms. One of the famous Motorola HS-1048 series of amps.this one being a'B' unit. Nice clean piece. Has been're-purposed' for use as a stand-alone home audio amplifier. Amp is driven with standard Right and Left inputs.and it will internally'sum' these inputs and generate a 3rd channel which is'voiced' for bass reproduction. So, amp can work in conventional 2-channel'stereo' mode, or act as a 3 channel unit when used with the addition of a 3rd'bass' speaker box. I have personally used the amp with a pair of small satellite speakers(Realistic Minimus 9s) and then I ran the'bass' channel into an automotive 10" sub-woofer in a small sub box. The system sounded great.and I was really impressed with the concept here from the early 1960s. Original Motorola Consoles used a 15" woofer in ... morethe center.and I'm sure they sounded terrific. Wish I had a 15" old paper cone woofer to have tried.but alas, I did what I could. And, I think it proved to me just how'advanced' some of this stuff was back in the day. So, now speakers are connected by means of the 4 terminals.one for'right +' one for'left +' one for'center +' and one for'ground' The RCA connects on top are for the Rt and Lf inputs.and for what was originally called by Motorola as a'vibrasonic' unit.what ever that was) The'center' RCA jack is really not necessary.nor is it used in'today's' wiring schemes. This is a used Motorola Micor UHF 470-512 MHz power amplifier. As you can see. It is in excellent physical condition. This amplifier would make a great spare and will work in the 440-460 MHz range, but only as a back-up spare. It was removed from working service sometime ago and became my spare for a few years. MOTOROLA MINITOR II SV 2 UHF WITH CHARGER AMPLIFIER BASE WORKING
FOR SALE IS A WORKING MOTOROLA MINITOR II SV( MININOR 2) PAGER IN UHF BAND WITH THE CHARGER AMPLIFIER BASE. UNIT IS ON 460.6000 AND 460.6250 THE PAGER WORKS AND HAS A BATTERY THAT HOLDS A CHARGE. THE AMPLIFIER BASE DOCK INCLUDES THE ORIGINAL MOTOROLA AC ADAPTER. THE ONLY PROBLEM WITH THE UNIT IS THE SQUELCH BUTTON AT THE UPPER RIGHT OF THE DOCK. THERE IS A RUBBER SQUARE BUTTON THAT IS USED TO SQUELCH. THE OUTSIDE OF THE BUTTON IS MISSING. BUT THERE IS A STUD IN THE MIDDLE THAT STICKS OUT FAR ENOUGH TO BE ABLE TO PRESS THE BUTTON AND USE THE SQUELCH. EVERYTHING WORKS. WE JUST WENT DIGITAL AND CAN NO LONGER USE THIS SYSTEM.
